Detroit is down three murders from last year, not statistically significant yet. It has been a "murder city" for decades and will continue the legacy this year.
Who cares about visitors anyway? Family will always visit. People will still go to the sports and entertainment venues. Detroit was never destined to be a tourist mecca and generate funds that way. Fight crime for the safety of the citizens I say.
The perpetrator in this article operated more in the suburbs than Detroit and he has not murdered anybody up to this point. So don't visit Roseville, Garden City or Warren either.
