Many are still without power. How sad. Plenty of batteries, candles, and water can help you folks endure. Also, any food that needs to be refrigerated or frozen can be put into gallon size freezer bags or garbage bags or thick plastic storage containers and set outside in the cold and the food will stay fresh. Food can be set in the shade outside or buried in the snow. Just make sure rodents or other other undesirables cannot get to your food. Nature is the best refrigerator.

This idea works in the winter only. Dry ice for the Spring or Summer when the power goes out indefinitely. Please be careful with the power generators because lives have been lost due to a high build up of carbon monoxide. Generators should be used outside of the house and garage and NOT in enclosed places. Chain your generator down with a good sturdy chain to discourage those who would still your generator.

Geesh! I grew up next farm from an Amish family. They never had electric power and never missed it. Our dependency on technology is idiotic.

Yea, sheesh! Who needs inside plumbing either?
Can Amish girls be trusted to keep their mouths shut?
