that's partially true but the real take over or end of democracy in the city started in the 70's when the negros burned, looted and destroyed the business district.

that event started the stampede of business and middle class tax payers who rightly felt the city was no longer a safe place to live or raise children.

then a secession of unqualified, inept, corrput negros were elected by the unqualified inept negro voters to run the city in the ground cause dem negro votes could trust a fellow negro to mis manage things.

say why dem last bunch of city mayors all in prision?? Hummmmm????

Bing tried to fix the ship of state but it took on too much debt, corruption, greedy excessive unfunded union contracts with no tax base or income to keep this bloated fiscal mess afloat.

lets go to bankruptcy court and get this mess right again.

So far Greg Bowens has stayed "clean" in a Joe Biden sort of manner. He watched his buddies volunteer for prison and decided not to join up.

the empirical evidence show the citizens of Detroit don't understand democracy or economics.

for Democracy to work requires an educated electorate able to elect the best qualified candidates from all parties all races.

The fall collapse of Detroit is due in part to one party being in control of city government too long. a complete lack of checks and balances in government.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

just ask the past mayors of Detroit when they get out of prison for corruption charges.

laws and life have to be respected by all citizens of a democracy or it will collapse into a jungle with no laws.
which is what parts of Detroit is like now a jungle with no laws.

so citizens you don't like Detroit today ??

Just look in the mirror, the people living there and the black democrats you keep electing have brought you to this place in your history.
your choices have come back to haunt you.
