This is not simply extra cash the state has lying around. There will be financial shuffling to make it seem all appropriate. Make no mistake. This money will be coming from extra taxes on senior pensions, reduced property tax credits and so forth. Some of the money is proposed to come through DDAs. What could that hurt right? Well, the DDA will first take some of the money from your millage that you voted for the DIA and the Detroit ZOO. On top of that, the DIA is going to charge you to see anything except an old painting on the wall that has been there since Nipper the RCA dog was a pup.
