I can hear the defense now.
Well, that seems like a lot of money but it's only about $86K per year. Many consultants make more than $86K per year. You could say that Bernard was saving people money. Besides, depositing money in the bank is no crime. How many of you have deposited money in the bank? OK, you are not criminals then are you? So why are they singling out my client? When white people make deposits, nobody calls them criminals.

Talk about race. Bernard and Kwame demanded the maximum penalty from the white businessmen like Karl Kado. All of Kwame's crew were other blacks. He needed Victor Mercado's help, but detested him personally. As a result, all Mercado got out of the millions was to keep his job. Unlike some, I believe racism goes in two directions.
