Seal off those areas and lease to the Military to practice urban warfare. The Abrams can go through the houses to knock them down....

This is a make-work project funded with an Obama grant. The idea is to show concern for the plight of the blight in Detroit and other cities, essentially black areas.

They will be sending 225 young people out with cameras. Many blighted properties do not even have discernible addresses to report. It's a mini job creation project as well. After you have 50 pictures of blighted homes, they are all similar. This project offers absolutely nothing to further the goal of remediation. Ultimately, the designers of this fiasco expect to have a pile of pictures that will impress congress to grant even more money for rebuilding. The fact remains that the instant rebuilding begins is the moment Detroiters begin to degrade the new resources.

I assume a blight ordinance allows the city to demolish property and remediate the land. The first step then is to list the property and declare that address a blight. I suppose a picture could document that and help in the goal. After proper notification, action must be swift. The city already has such a list in the thousands that is years old. Let's see what they do with this slideshow.

"Remediate the land"? surely you jest.

You can't remediate the land or anything else with a citizenry made up of soulless clueless, people having no moral compass, no sense of basic right or wrong no respect for the law or themselves.

Now if your serious about this remediation idea you need to remove the killers, drug dealers, unlicensed unregistered guns, street drugs, robbers, looters, arsonist, animal abusers, child abusers, welfare queens, elderly abusers illegal immigrants, lazy work to rule union members with very limited obstructionist views on the role of workers in modern society, remove criminal element from city hall, end graft and corruption in the city.

then repopulate the city with new people from outside the city who care about life and have a life, bring a moral compass and firm sense or idea of right and wrong respect law and them selves and you might have a chance at remediating the land what ever that means to you.

But with this citizenry as the core stock population to work with there is no working functioning sustainable remediation on the horizon EVER!

these people are not capable of remediation. the lawless way they live is too ingrained in them by years of living this way. You can't turn a wild dog into a house pet.

These people are just not remediation material, you can't make a good city out of these dysfunctional lawless clueless morons.

Pack your bags lets take a tour Come to Cambridge MA, Wellesley MA, Downers grove IL, Evanston or Skokie IL other American cities and we'll show you what you need for a stock seed population to begin your imiganed remediation process and complete it successfully and make it self sustaining which is an important feature of da GNU Detroit.
