Yes, Detroit needs to cut taxes, yes they need to get people off of welfare and get them working, etc. I agree with that.
But I stand by my idea about bringing some of the Colombian refugees to Detroit. The USA has always been a nation of immigrants, and our immigrants have contributed to the success of the USA. The Colombian immigrants would be great for Detroit for many, many, many reasons.
If you want to send emails to the Detroit City Hall, to send them ideas about the Colombian refugees, or any other idea including lowering taxes, etc, here is the website for Detroit City Hall, some of the council members have email addresses on the web:

Detroit also needs to have "Detroit Chambers of Commerce" in capitol cities around the world to foster trade with Detroit around the world. And here is an idea, automobile parts could be manufactured in Detroit and exported to Brazil to be incorporated into automobiles assembled in Brazil for export to India (India has an important growing economy, but India is still poor and they need cheap cars, automobiles assembled in Brazil will be cheaper because Brazil can undercut the USA, Europe, and Japan, on labor costs, while achieving good quality).

I wonder how many of the Latinos who are migrating to the USA will end up in Michigan? Latino immigration would be good for Michigan, and for Detroit.

As the Latinos arrive in Detroit, the Catholic services need to jump into action, and the Catholic services need to help the Latinos to get into group homes, and into housing of any kind, and also needs to help the Latinos to find jobs, etc, etc, etc. The Catholics need to help the Latinos as they arrive in the Detroit area.

The City of Detroit, and the police department of Detroit, can learn from Los Angeles on the issue of the Latino immigrants...

----------

The Los Angeles Police Department will no longer turn illegal immigrants over to ICE for non-crime issues. The LAPD wants the immigrants to have a good relationship with the police department and with the city of Los Angeles. If an immigrant commits a crime then ICE will be notified, but if the immigrant does not commit a crime then ICE will not be notified and the immigrant will not be held. The LAPD and Mayor Garcetti also cited the Constitution of the United States as being part of the reason for their choice, and the 4th Amendment.

As the Latinos enter the USA, they need to read our Declaration of Independence, and our Constitution, including our Bill of Rights, right away, they need to study that first, and then they can learn everything else later. And they need to learn English as fast as they can, and the Catholics and others can help to teach them English. In Anaheim they teach the Latinos English at the schools at night after the children have left, and they teach them English at other places as well.

One thing about the Latinos, is that once they live in a neighborhood that they call "HOME," they will join together as a team and they will protect and defend that neighborhood without pay, for free, and they will guard that neighborhood with their lives, and they will work together as a team to help everyone in their neighborhood to rise.

In my neighborhood the local Latino club is named "La Fabrica," which means "The Factory," and they will protect and defend this neighborhood with their lives.

The Border Patrol did not exist until 1924. And people within the Western Hemisphere were not restricted. We did not even need passports to go to Canada and Mexico until recently. We are a free country, and our borders must retain freedom, and we must be free to migrate unrestricted here in the Western Hemisphere. We do not want it to be like Nazi Germany.

----------

In 1924, the first official border patrol was established on the Mexico–U.S. border. Prior to this date, however, Mexican immigration was not restricted in the way it is today:“a Mexican caught crossing the border illegally was told that if he wished to enter the US, he had to do so at a regular station and pay the fees.” Moreover, immigration from the Western Hemisphere had remained unrestricted until 1965 with the passage of the Immigration and Nationality Act, even though countries from Eastern Europe and Africa, for example, had limitations, severely restricting immigration from those countries.

From Wikipedia.

----------

And the issue of the Colombian Refugees is the largest humanitarian crisis in the Western Hemisphere. We must welcome the Latinos, including the Colombian Refugees, into the USA.

Also, there is the issue of empty cities in the USA, as the populations of many U.S. cities decline, including in Detroit, and the Latinos, inlcuding the Colombian Refugees, can help to repopulate and grow the empty cities.

GLENN BECK TO BRING SOCCER BALLS, HOT MEALS TO ILLEGALS:'WE MUST OPEN OUR HEARTS'

by TONY LEE 8 Jul 2014

Glenn Beck said bringing soccer balls, teddy bears, and hot meals to illegal immigrants who have been detained along the U.S.-Mexico border will be the most right thing he has ever done.

On July 19, Beck will travel to McAllen, Texas, because he believes Americans must "open our hearts" to the illegal immigrant children who have been unlawfully entering the country.

"I’ve never taken a position more deadly to my career than this – and I have never, ever taken a position that is more right than this," Beck claimed, according to The Blaze.

Beck said helping illegal immigrant children, most of whom have fled Central American nations, was more "right" to him than even calling out radical Islam.

“We’re going to fill some tractor-trailers with food, with water,” Beck said.“The churches have asked us if we could bring teddy bears and soccer balls, so we’ve loaded up a whole tractor-trailer of nothing but teddy bears and soccer balls. And then I’m going to go serve breakfast and lunch, and I’m going to help unload these trucks, hot meals for 3,000. That’s what we’re doing.”

Some illegal immigrants have been found to have contagious diseases and dangerous gang affiliations, but Beck also emphasized that the United States should be accessible to "all those fleeing poverty and violence."

“Through no fault of their own, they are caught in political crossfire,” Beck said.“And while we continue to put pressure on Washington and change its course of lawlessness, we must also help. It is not either, or. It is both. We have to be active in the political game, and we must open our hearts.”

The number of illegal immigrant children under 18 years of age who have unlawfully crossed the border has drastically increased since President Barack Obama unilaterally enacted his temporary amnesty program for certain DREAMers in 2012.

Tony, you need to find your own island, let's call is Utopia, where you can bring all these fun loving, education hungry and peaceful immigrants to sponge off the free coconuts. We can't afford it. We are too busy trying to work and stay safe from these alien beings plus our own infestation.

The law of the Universe is a law of abundance, not scarcity, and as more people enter an area the economy of that area grows.

The more people that you have, the more the need for goods and services, etc, for those people, so the economy grows as more people enter, and migration actually feeds the economies of areas, one clear example to prove this is the case with the Cubans in Florida. Florida is a wealthy state, and the economy of Florida has grown as the Cubans entered Florida.

Everyone in the USA should be forced to study basic economics, and the law of supply and demand. More people mean more demand, and thus a need for more supply.

Also of note, is that the USA is the wealthiest nation because of immigration.

And the Republicans love immigration because the Republicans view the immigrants as new customers, etc, etc, etc. And when a Republican looks at a group of immigrants a Republican sees future doctors, and lawyers, and future business owners who will create jobs, and nurses, and truck drivers, and farm workers, and restaurant workers, and construction workers, etc, etc, etc, as opposed to seeing just hungry mouths to feed like how a Democrat sees them.(Which is why Reagan did amnesty and made the immigrants all legal.)

We need to always come from a place of abundance, seriously. Whether it is with the issue of immigration and being able to create enough jobs for everyone, or whatever.

In leadership training they told me to always come from a place of abundance, as opposed to scarcity. We can easily grow enough food to feed everyone on earth if we come from a place of abundance, as opposed to letting them starve as we come from a place of scarcity. And sometimes the way to improve things is to think big, even when times are hard and we are tempted to say that we cannot because of poverty. We can live in a world of abundance, and unlimited opportunity, or we can live in a world of scarcity where it just continues to get worse. And with leaders, say for a company, they want people who will make the company grow and prosper, not people who will keep downsizing it until it does not exist anymore. People want leaders who improve things, not make things worse.

With the bad economy, and with the giant debt of the United States, it would be so easy for everyone to downsize everything out of existence, which would only make things worse, at a time when we need to do the opposite and grow and prosper and improve things instead. A great depression is as much a state of mind as it is a reality, we cannot fall into that state of mind and we must avoid that reality.

We must come from a world of abundance and unlimited opportunity, and grow and prosper, and improve things, we must be creative in good ways and we must think big, and every problem creates an opportunity for people to solve the problems, and where there is room for improvement there is opportunity for people to improve things, etc, etc, etc.

I read that fewer people are willing to get student loans because they are afraid they will not be able to pay them off, and they are afraid to accrue the debt for an education, and that is totally the wrong way for them to be thinking right now, and at this time the USA needs to have a better educated and better trained population, and there will be plenty of opportunity for good educated people to solve problems and improve things after they receive an education. In my opinion the people of the United States need to enter college at higher numbers, not lower. Things are not going to get better if we have a lesser educated population, that is going in the wrong direction, we need a higher educated population instead. So we need to get them thinking from a place of abundance, so that we can achieve abundance, and a better economy and a better world.

And the whole thing with the debt of the United States could be solved if we come from a place of abundance. Much of the land of the United States is government owned land, we are talking abundance, and some of that land could be sold to private people, and that alone would pay off much of the government debt. The government can also make money with natural gas and oil leases at a time when natural gas and oil are at all time high prices, and drilling for natural gas and oil in the USA would be a good thing for many reasons. And that would help reduce the debt. Also, gold is at an all time high price right now, and there is gold on much of the government owned land, along with other precious metals. And that would help reduce the debt. If we come from a place of abundance then we can reduce the debt easily. Then, we monitor the spending of the government better in the future so that we can pass down surpluses to future generations instead of deficits.

The students of today will help to build a better future and a better world.

We must come from a place of abundance.

Sarah Palin says that we cannot have a country without borders, she is ignorant, we did not have a border patrol on our Southern border until 1924, we did just fine without a border patrol, and without putting restrictions on people here in the Western Hemisphere. We did not have restrictions on people here in the Western Hemisphere until 1965. And we did not need passports to travel to Mexico or to Canada until recently.

I also do not like people who think that they are somehow better than other people because they are a U.S. citizen, ALL people are created equal. And all people have the right to live anywhere on the planet Earth where they wish to live. Illegal immigrants have the same right to be here that Sarah Palin has, and the illegal immigrants are just as human as Sarah Palin is.

Who is speaking out in defense of the immigrants? Sarah Palin is all over the television bashing the immigrants, who is going on television to defend the immigrants? Someone needs to go on television to defend the immigrants, such as Salma Hayek, and Jennifer Lopez, and Sofia Vergara, and others, there must be people going on television to defend the immigrants. Seriously.

Here is a video where a guy explains with gumballs that we cannot save the world economy by bringing all of the world's people to the USA, and he explains that immigration into the USA will not solve the issue of poverty in the world...

Link...

http://youtu.be/LPjzfGChGlE

I agree with a lot of what that guy said, he is right. We must improve the world economy so that people can work where they live, and so that things will improve where they live.

But meanwhile, we need to make the people who are already here in the USA legal, like Reagan did, we need amnesty. And we need a special plan for our neighbors here in the Western Hemisphere, like we had up until 1965, and we need a special trade deal with our neighbors here in the Western Hemisphere, and we need to work together as a team here in the Western Hemisphere and we need to open the Western Hemisphere up from the top of Alaska to the bottom of Chile.

On the issue of the world economy, and China, China needs a labor movement, like what happened with Poland, and the collapse of the USSR, and the way that they brought down the Berlin Wall. And as things improve in China, the whole world economy will improve. And workers globally can unionize, and their countries can improve their labor laws, etc, etc, etc. Things can improve in the nations where the people live, just like what that guy said in the video with the gumballs. It can all start with a labor movement in China.

Here is a video that I made a while back pertaining how to save and improve our world economy...
