Brooks has earned his way. But he needs more humility. Just because he and others have it good, doesn't mean there r not ones less fortunate. I have said things i regret on here. But patterson is looked up to. He just needs to change the subject or say more constructive things. The press and mediar will eat him and others alive! They have done so many times in decades past to many others.

Genocide is genocide anyway you cut it, but I agree that equating this to The Holocaust, The Trail of Tears, et c. would be ridiculous. A tribal council in that city...they couldnt do any worse. I used to vacation with my famly up in Traverse City untl recently. Just on a related note, that town's indigenous contigent, were whacked out if their fucking minds on firewater and aerosol (not surprisingly) and making plenty of trpuble for residents, business owners and basically breaking the social compact whenever possible. I can just the same understand why they would bridle at being liked to bloodthirsty spearchuckers who have been killing each other proficiently, in astronomical numbers, for as long as I can remember. Im 35, btw.

Detroit has never been a glamorous destination. But it still has many venues downtown. All of the sporting teans would be here except for pistons who don't want to abandon the palace. Many cities have neighborhoods that r lackluster.chicago,Philadelphi a etc.
Officials in public office have a duty to speak on a positive note when possiblei'm sure many r grateful they don'thave to live in a county with upmost corruption . But there r still things that bring suburbanites downtown including ones who live in oOakland county. Detroit has had it's share of bad rap for decades. The sentences handed to corrupt officials won't begin to solve Detroit's woes, but it is a start. I personally don't blame detroit or any gov't officials for my problems. My parents had 100% to do with that.it didn't matter who led federal, city, state.county etc. It all starts in your upbringing most of the time.

Exactly.brooks look at the good side of detroit.the new cobo,i used to like scuence center, the casinos, the renaissance center, the charles wright museum, the festivals, fireworks, major sporting events, car and boat show, detroit has something to offer for everyone. I have been to chicago 17 years ago. Detroit is just on a much smaller scale. But many businesses and professionals won't abandon detroit. Brooks, look at the good side of detroit. It has much to offer than i have included.

Brooks has earned his way to what? Saying stupid offensive things? Nobody has earned the right to talk down to anybody. He has now earned the right to ride off into the sunset.
