I am leaning towards how oakland and macomb county executives provide this service. A no brainer!!

Interesting that Ficano sees the need for additional personal protection at this time.

Well, he backed off on the third driver due to the heat and because the third driver got worried his other business would be affected. I'm thinking the driver has other side contracts with the county that would come to light with the added scrutiny. They got too greedy and tried to pull it back. the scrutiny will continue.

Ficano is not going unnoticed in all this. The fed doesn't project their game plan. They are sloppy. They miss a lot of things. But they probably have been trying to piece the whole Ficano fiasco puzzle together for years. Ficano is more crafty than Kwame. Kwame left lots of text messages, checks and other items that nailed him down. Ficano maintains more deniability by lack of record keeping. Also, Ficano probably is not squirreling away cash someplace. He is not a big public spender wearing tons of bling. He fashions himself as a deal maker and relishes in the power. It's all too easy for him to sell the idea of incompetence when confronted with irregularities.

A county executive needs a professional driver so they can do the work of the people while traveling. Hell, they don't even have time to fasten a seat belt. If the driver is a former peace officer, that's like getting two workers in one.
Drive safely.
