My late father was a World War II veteran, and as a child I remember him talking about the promise of America.

Way, too late. American has lost respect for what our values once were. Baby boomers need to turn that around. Time to pass the torch.

Boomers can't help but to pass the torch! They'll all be dead by the year 2035. I believe with the help of computers capitalism has found a way to take as much from us as they can get without us complaining about it.
Our enemy isn't the baby boomers it is the capitalists and the politicians they hold in their pockets that are the biggest threat to our society today.
To the consumer, every good deal they find come with disclaimers that you need a microscope and a lawyer to figure out... to understand!
When we kill capitalism there will be a sigh of relief that will be heard all the way up to the gates of heaven!

The America dream has been renewed more then once already. But not everyone is interested in new empowering innovation.
If you want a good socialist model look to chavismo implemented in Caracas Venezuela, one of the most peaceful cities in the world.

we can and should bring back the American dream.
1) Close the welfare offices turn them into job centers remember some of them ho's been on welfare too many generations time to go to work.
2) Kick out the illegal immigrants which will free up lots of jobs for Americans to have
3) Reduce business taxes regulations create a business friendly environment which will attract business, create union free zones in which business won't be attacked by aggressive union bully tactics.
Remember Detroit what you tax you get less of what you subsidize you get more of.
So Detroit the question really is what do you want more business with jobs or more welfare ho's drug dealers illegal immigrants?
4) Set up mobile tax offices in da hood, tax and lots of regulations and paper work on illegal street gangs drug sales, sales & income taxes on dealers, sales taxes on buyers then arrest buyers for illegal procession all these new taxes and regulation will drive the drug dealers right out of business.
Put cameras in da hood and take photos of the buyers and sellers put them on TV at 6pm news.
Hey this business plan works you drove lots of business out of Detroit over the years using these tactics and you should drive drug dealers out of the area the same way.
You could drive the final nail in the coffin of drug dealers by forcing them to unionize, all them work to rule regulations will slow the drug trade way down just like it does to business.
