Refer to how westland mi has reduced costs.this is a realistic intelligent way.wayne county has been spoiled in overspending with wrong people in charge including past appointees etc.

Mr. Ficano has seen the light. He will not be renewing contracts for his two special chauffeurs. Instead, someone else from his staff will have to drive.

"We can't emergency manager our way out of county problems."

Maybe we should forgive mr. Ficano, I'm sure he has learned things from.past lessons.wayne county certainly isn't the only facet of government that has wasted money.i am hard on any level of government that wastes.i know this is extreme but if wayne county employees have to take cuts in upper echelon so be it. Also maybe some people will start having to contribute towards their own retirement and healthcare.we cant load everything on taxes today. Many r struggling. I definitely should have gone into accounting years ago. Fraud waste and abuse has to be dealt with everuwhere.gov ernments and corporations for competitiveness. Also mr. Carl levin has brought up a good point.loopholes in tax savings for rich corporations. Let us move forward to give advice to every level that is common sense. The cost to taxpayers alone from all these investigations is staggering, mr. Ficano u now have my support if u keep on right path. Let us all get behind our leaders who try to mend things in a positive way.

Actually the first time i was impressed with mr. Ficano was around 1999. There was a scandal in macomb county where law enforcement was actually committed sex acts with women and then arresting after. Ficano got on television and was asked his opinion and said that he relayed to his officers not to touch the ladies sexually. I from then on had a great opinion of his integrity which is a positive in politics. In late 80's i had discussion with coworker about ethics in politics. I was under impression that it wasn't important but he told me it was. I do beleive Robert ficano has high morals and am sorryif i ever was a little hard on him. I believe now that everyone is prone to bad decisions at times but he admits to letting things slack. Please let us give our utmost support to ficano in remaining tenure. I believe even after yhis storm 17 months ago this guy has endured and come out stronger. Look at ted Kennedy after chappaquidick. He went on until death as public official. Let us please forgive for past wrong decisions and move forward in wayne county with ficano at helm. God bless

Why yes, Mr. Ficano is such a well meaning man who had a few indiscretions. He gave people a few extra hundreds of thousands in pension money. Many of his appointees have been indicted for fraud while Robert was so trusting. And that little mistake of not paying the correct property tax was overcome after Charlie LeDuff followed him around to remind him. The third chauffeur request was all about creating a job for a poor man with only two pensions.

Excuuuse me while I reach for a tissue.

We have a black president now. It's time that he do something for the cities in his second term. Cities need to be funded by the federal government. MOney is the only thing that's been keeping the cities from becoming a paradise. No, we got enough casinos. I mean the type of paradise in the movies where womens dance around with grass skirts and you can get a lay any time you want it.
