Fifty- two years ago today the longest ship ever to kiss the waters of our Great Lakes, the Edmund Fitzgerald, was launched in River Rouge.

my dad helped build the "Big Fitz" and he was sure proud of her.He died in 1968.So he wasn't around when she sank.
