Sales tax referendum coming to River Forest
#1 Aug 12, 2010
So, it would move the sales tax up to 9.5% like Oak Park's. I happen to like 7.75% in DuPage County. With Costco on 22nd St. and the Oakbrook Mall, along with other retailers, I can easily pay for the gas out there.
High sales taxes mean I just shop for convenience locally. A loaf of bread, a couple of bucks at the hardware store. But anything of real value, its adios! I'm headed for DuPage.
