One Step Beyond a sleazy lingerie bar was raided a few nights ago. According to the strip club list forum 5 women were charged with prostitution. So glad this depraved bar was closed at least for awhile. It's located across from a grade school.

I don't understand it. There are no gun shops allowed within a certain area of schools..why can't they do that with bars. I live very near that bar and my son goes to that school. I always see drunks and the girls that dance there hanging outside smoking which is not good for these kids to see. and yes, it is during the day as well. I have even been approached by a drunk while waiting to pick up my kid from school. They need to get bars and liquor stores away from schools, it's disgusting!

Why don't the schools move away from bars and liquor stores?

Oh my, your kid saw someone smoking, please call a therapist right away.

I don't understand why the village allows these kinds of businesses. The mayor is the liquor commissioner. Surely he was aware of what was going on This dump is only a couple blocks from the police station and they never did anything about it before. I wonder if they want to close it so people even more connected can open a sleazier place. Let's vote these people out.

According to Melrose Park herald the cook county police and a west suburban task force helped with the raid. I guess MPPD needed help finding it 2 blocks away from PD and investigating the alleged crimes. They found out that in a strip club some strippers do not wear all of their clothes.

the reason towns use county and state on these investigations is because the undercover cops are not known, umlike the local cops who are

You're right there's a lot of MPPD hanging out here at Osb all the time so I guess they would be recognized. THat's true dedication.

i hope not. Its bad enough having 15th ave bookstore in town. We sure don't need another home for perverts. Maybe with luck the state cops will run 15th bookstore and any other sleaze bag joint out of business.

the state cops havent cleaned up mannheim rd and its been going on for a millions years. it's the county and states jurisdiction. what makes you think they will clean up a book store in another jurisdiction

I guess you never been there. It caters to couples. How long do you thinks wives are going to go there if they see cops arresting people ? Chase away the women and that place is toast. Hookers can always move to a new street until the cops give up. But you can't just move a building. All we need are new laws that would make it eaiser for state and county cops to bust bookstores. It already happened in Zion,IL and across the boarder into Wi. Its way easier to shut down bookstores then it is to chase hookers. If you want this bookstore closed then write to county cops, state cops, and state legislators. Demand they do something like they did in Zion,IL.

there's the links to find your state reps.
if you don't think your rep is up to the task then try another or heck try them all. Any of them can purpose a bill that can help shut down bookstores. Limit their nighttime hours, remove doors off booths, close up the holes, close them on sundays, mandatory and random health checks on customers. They do that for hookers. Limit parking to the lot only. Ticket those parking on the street. Lots of laws can be made that would help to close down bookstores. Tell your rep you want them to do it !! Otherwise don't complain how bad this town is.
