Hemingway's writing always reminds me of the comment about Wagner's music: It's not half as bad as it sounds.

The annual Harry's Bar and Grill Hemingway parody contest is defunct although the best (or is that the worst) can be found in a book called Best Of Bad Hemingway. That book also contains some vintage Papa parodies by the likes of F. Scott Fitzgerald and George Plimpton.

I could never really appreciate Hemingway parody. The spoof writing is only marginally sillier than the original.
