Doug Volkman is a good man. I've known him for about twenty years and he's always been a good and loving father, husband and friend. Don't judge him unless you know the whole story. Give him a chance to explain what really happened. Shame on anyone who is not intelligent enough to get the facts before they judge a person they don't even know because if you know Doug you'd know he's a wonderful guy overall!!!

Doug would be one of the last guys i would think of to do something like this. Great father, always involved with his kids. Layed back, nothing seemed to ever bother him. Successful career. Super nice parents. There has to be something more to this story. Any news on how Doug is doing?

He made the choice to run so he put himself and others at risk, May have been a good man but he made a bad choice, Now his Family pays the price.

Lucky he was the only one hurt.

I agree, his family is paying a big price. I guess he didn't think about his family during his long drive from naperville to des plaines.
I think Drew Peterson is guilty as hell along with Craig Stebik.

in response to "it doesn't matter"...YES, IT DOES. You may never have guessed in a million years that he was capable of hurting someone, but the fact is, HE DID. Why? the truth will probably never come out. Luckily, no body on the highway was injured and his boss survived the surprise stabbing

I'm a blood relative of Doug Volkman. For anyone who was wondering how he is doing, and not trying to sit here damaging his name more than he already has, he is out of the hospital and waiting on his court date. He will probably be convicted of attempted murder. We never saw anything like this coming. His immediate family is struggling but getting through it.

I worked with Doug back in Oak Brook and was shocked to hear about this. "rock and roll lifestyle" was never something I saw. Wondering where this stands today?
A prayer for him and his family...

His wide probably drove him to this. She always seemed insane and mean. I wonder if she still have all her fancy clothes and diamonds. I guess they werent paying for the fancy upgrades to their house with the trust fund money like she claimed. I have never seen people do more work on a home than they did.

First of all he did not die. They thought he had because the police came and told the wife that. Really who gets hit by a semi and thrown 20 or 30 feet and lives? I believe they even had a sheet over him...
Second of all he just got convicted for stealing from his company and stabbing a co-worker, boss.
I believe he got 13 years, no getting out early for good behavior. The others only got 2 years for probably stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The family lost the house. It hurt alot of people.

This family was nothing but kind to us, generous and welcoming. They were very supportive of my wife when she was down.
I know nothing of the details of the tragedy, and only send our well wishes to this ravaged household. We are so sorry and will keep them all in our prayers.
