What a F@*#ing joke! The only bigger problem about Maywood aside from the gangs and drug dealers running rampant is the self-serving idiots who run the town! The political reality is that blacks have never been interested in unity with anyone, including each other. Only with snatching as much power as they can. Evidence of this is that their vote always gets split between rivaling factions withing their own political power base. Chicago politics is a perfect example, but not exclusive to the City. Maywood is one example of what happens when black politicians do get political power. They are too busy in-fighting with each other to make any meaningful changes.
Maywood is small enough to fix the crime / economic problems if anyone really cared too. But they are too busy with their personal agendas.
