I've done it and my (ex) wife did too. This ought to teach them a lesson, especially if the buggy is loaded with stuff like ice cream, ground beef, milk, and other stuff meant to be frozen.

And yeah, it's Wal-Mart...

If someone goes shopping at a store that is known for having waits at check out, then that person ought to be found and charged for any spoiled items abandoned. That is low down.
If a medical emergency came up, that is one thing. But to throw a temper fit like a two year old is a whole 'nother show of tacky, classless, trash.

What the hell are you talking about Lauderdale county? Ripley is in Tippah county. I keep thinking I am on the wrong page because you posted fifty times about Lauderdale. TIPPAH

I disagree with that! Too many slackers slowing things up. You can see if a line has five full baskets or not. If it does you know you have to wait. When people slack on you and you have things to do, like maybe go to work, you have to leave.

Ripley, Tn not MS, topix has this thing about screwing up city names even though you search using a zip code! Go figure??? If you look at Halls, TN you will find several post about a "Halls" that is around Knoxville TN, not the one in Lauderdale Co. TN, totally opposite ends of the state.

You got this one wrong, ox.
That store that is known for having waits at check out is the store that came to town, put out mom and pop businesses with the promise of a better life for everyone, and at first had 20 checkers waiting to check out people, but not has narrowed that to 2 or 3 checkers once they have the whole town depending on them.
They do this so they can save money!!!
I think everyone, at one time, should go there, and everyone who has to wait over a few minutes should abandon their buggy full of gro.!!!! And not go back!
I think , done everyday for a few days, this might send a strong message to the richest people in the world. THEM THARE WALTONS!!!
Do you think they can't afford to hire checkers????

I have had a bunch of folks tell me I am so wrong about this. I guess in the wrong and right of decency, I stand by my original. But in making a collective protest, what you are suggesting would be just that> a protest.

What gets me is a sign posted for 20 ITEMS OR LESS, and here come the buggys with 100 items. And there is no lane open for those of us with a handful of stuff who need to get out.

And it it not just Walmart. It is everywhere. And it is much to do with folks waiting and their attitudes and courtesy as well.

Well OX when 1 out of 3 lanes open happens to be the express lane what do you expect? The only line in that store that is guaranteed to be running is the cigarette lane.
I know people say shop local but in Wal-Mart's case this is a "local" problem. I shop at Covington Wal-Mart faithfully. For many reasons. They always for the most part have what you went for anyway. They have a much wider range of selection. They are not out of things like the "local" one always is. Their shelves are stocked & faced ( you don't have to climb a shelf to reach something in the very back, & it's the last one on top of that). Although they don't always have a lot of lanes open they do normally have more. Besides that they have the self-checkouts & I realize some people don't like those. The fact of the matter is, that's the future. Yes is puts people out of a job but the automotive industry has been replacing machine for man for well over a decade now. Some will say if people refuse to use them blah blah blah, but it won't change a thing, like I said it's the future. Sorry for my little rant. I know I got somewhat off subject. So anyway our Wal-Mart is sorry as you know what compared to others. Jackson's is nice also along with Brownsville. Covington is bar none near being #1 compared to others I have been to. Ripley's needs a new manager that will change things & if the workers don't work up to par, replace them.

Way to go Old. Agreed!! Finally someone with a little common sense and respect for hard working americans!
Walmart is out for making the waltons richer, and the sad thing is, they have brainwashed stupid, small town, narrow minded folk into buying into their sales pitch. I wonder how many walfare recepiants spend their last dollar at walmart! No savings, no home (Probably rent.) God help us all.
