I feel violated

How many businesses have been visited by our fine officers to get current updates on emergency contact info? I was and thought it was a good thing they were keeping in touch with the community. BUT, when one of the married officers called me to say hi and ask if there was anything "extra" he could do it scared me. Is this information for anyone to look at? When the "officers" that are supposed to protect us do that who do you call for protection? If my husband found out it would be bad for the officer and we cant afford lawyers fees or court costs so I cant even say anything to him? I feel defenseless.

They also need to make sure who is the custodial parent before they go off ... There may be some red faces over the lack of investigation about that. And they are not the only ones.

To<<I feel violated>>Hon, what you need to do is call him to your business (tell him you have somethig to discuss with him and be sure to tell him not to report where he is getting out of his car) and when he gets there, beat the holy he?? out of him with a baseball bat, and let him explain that to his boss..

yep and yup and bet>> I'm not talking to you all, you ignorant dumbasses..And no I would not get shot full of holes, because when he opened the door, I would crown his ignorant ass.. And better remember other people can shoot too. Don't for one minute think that they are experts.. Boy, what a joke..

Haha oh I know they aren't experts, at all, just let me know how hitting a cop with a ball bat works out for you

Wouldn't be any problem at all, because I'm sure he wouldn't want his boss or his wife to know why it happened..

Oh I understand completely, I'm just saying don't stoop to his level if in fact what you say is true, because stooping to his level could potentially get you charged with aggravated assault against a police officer, he could loose his wife but you could loose like 5 years

If this really happened, the first thing a person would do (a NORMAL PERSON, anyway)is call the PD, maybe talk to the Chief, and ask if this really were some type of official police procedure.

Depending upon THOSE answers-someone would decide whether to take further action.

However-someone who seeks extra attention or who really kinda wishes someone were "stalking' them or even "interested" in them-might go to a stupid page like this and try to start and ignorant thread.

I find it hard to believe that if someone were genuinely seeking council for an incident they were actually concerned about would run first to "Topix" to seek information and guidance.

Grow up.

And 'Old Timer," if you think ANYTHING good could come out of trying to "crown" a police officer, you are far more stupid than the original poster.

In fact, I'd dare say you'd cower in a corner in any confrontation as most of the people who talk so big usually do.

I doubt that you'd be able to "crown" me by surprise when I came in a door-and if you DID fail-that's when your trouble would begin.

Big talk=B.S.

Shut up.

Call the Chief now that's funny. He can't do anything he can't even write a ticket, he has to call 3 cops just to write a ticket.

Then, fine. Call the Mayor's office or whomever. My point is that going to Topix about it makes the whole thing more likely BS. If someone were really concerned about something like this-they'd do somethig much more official in response.

You got a beef with the Chief-go directly to him and don't just talk shit on Topix!

I don't have a beef with the chief or anyone else. I was simply stating he wouldn't be able to help her. She was posting on here asking if this sort of thing has happened to anyone else. She is just 1 person a defenseless woman , I understand her doubts about calling the chief or anyone in law enforcement. There's corrupt law enforcement everywhere, not just in Ripley this woman is looking for anyone else who had dealt with the same thing.

Now <<icallbs>> being a police chief for so many years, I have forgotten more than you will ever know. Never did cower in a corner and sure as hell wouldn't cower from you. As far as crowing you, that sure wouldn't be any problem. You put a uniform on a man and they think they are God's gift to women. Sometimes they have to be tamed, and I have done that many times. Oh by the way, why don't you try to shut me up!!

If 'Old Timer" were really an officer-he'd NEVER suggest that someone "crown" a police officer. Never! I also call BS on "Old Timer."
Might WISH you were (or WAS) a cop but you SURE don't talk like a cop.
I KNOW what I'm talking about!

Yes, businesses were visited this past week to update info. No, the information is not for just anyone to look at. If what you say is true, then you need to report it.
