I was at my 10year old's soccer game last night and I look over to see a woman laying on a blanket next to her young baby and see she is breastfeeding away. No cover-up or even an attempt to privitize her and baby. Now keep in mind she is laying right by the sidelines where 10yr-13yr olds are playing their soccer game. I feel she should have thought of the children a little bit. I breast fed my 10yr old that was there playing his game but I did have respect and thoughtfulness of others who may not share this feeding method or just not share it with everyone who is around. Feed back please? just cover up please!!!

Ok here is my thought. Nursing a child is very important. Years ago women nursed their children and is was not judged. This is very important time for a child, this is the time they bond with a mother. Over the years stop and think there are so many divorces. Some of the reason is; if a mother doesn't bond with a child, the child doesn't know anything about bonding. so as they become as adult they have no bonding skills, therefor marriages, and any relationship of any kind never last. I nursed my children and I be darn if go into a nasty restroom to nurse my child.

Oh sorry I meant I breast fed my son when he was a baby for about 9 months. He is 10yr old now and drinks his own milk! But I rather he not see her especially while he's playing his soccer game but as his mother I just dont want him seeing that at this point in his life.

I can understand that. I was never able to breast feed my daughter. My milk just never came and my ex husband really wasn't for it anyway. I think she is doing the right thing by breast feeding but I don't agree with showing skin. There are ways to do it discretely. I would deff say something to her privately if it ever happens again, if I were you.. Is she is a new or first-time mother? maybe she is just unaware. Or if you don't feel comfortable, maybe you could speak with whoever is in charge of the games and they could talk w her

Sometimes it seems some women just want top appear "modern & hip" and do the breastfeeding thing. Couldn't this lady have brought some breast milk from home in a bottle?

Yes, men should be mature about this but women ought to be discreet as possible. I've seen some do it in the wide open & then get all huffy if someone remarks about it, as if they're looking for a fight about the subject.

First off some women only breastfeed and don't use bottles such as my self and second if the lazy who was feeding her child is on here let me know when the next game is and I will come breastfeed my baby at the came with you so this lady can really complain. there is nothing front with feeding your child and no you should not have to go somewhere else. Trust me the kids don't notice anything unless the parents are making a big deal about it and we can't help that the parents are stupid

If breastfeeding an infant offends you, I guess it would really offend you to know that I breastfeed my husband. Due to all the milk I produce, he helps me avoid engorgement. Plus, it's very sexy and he loves it.

Well this stayed pretty clean until you brought your husband and your sexual habits into the conversation. Look it's nothing wrong with breast feeding, the lady does need to be a little more discrete about it. It isn't like it was in days gone by when every one breast feed their children. Maybe the lady should have covered up a little.

First: breast feeding has been around forever. It is the God designed way of feeding our babies. But ladies have always and still do breastfeed with decorum and respect for themselves and those around them.

Second: the person who said the kids didn't notice does not know children at all. Kids are allowed to see so much adult content everywhere that they notice everything. even more sheltered children at 10-13 would notice this. They are in puberty. That's what is on the mind at that age.

Third: It appears some women like to try and make an issue if normal things. They call attention either to get praise or to cause a confrontation. If it was really about feeding the baby she would have done it discretely.

Remember to most people - topless is just topless. It doesn't really matter the circumstances.

This is my opinion. All you folks who want the world to be tolerant of you, show tolerance and understanding first.

Some babies such as mine don't like to have their head covered. and really if there is a baby latched on your breast you are not seeing anything except a babies head on the mama chest. if a kid askes just say the mama is feeding her baby. I have been around kids while breastfeeding the kids were over 10 and yes they may have asked what I was doing but after telling them they said ok and went oh doing what ever it is they were doing and didn't pay any more attention. the only people why keep staring all the adults who already know what's going on just because they don't have a life. there have been times I have been in a restaurant and have went and sit in a place where I wasn't around any small minded people to breastfeed it baby and you know what the same people who complained were perverted enough to keep getting up and coming back where I was at and staring. so what's she point of getting to be discreet for the small minded when they aren't going go be respectful and just why in their seat and leave you alone.
