Ken sutton and Brad Simpson? Let's be serious here guys. Ripley is in deep crap and we need serious people to step up. We need to start letting the young blood take the reigns, think outside of the box.

We need more than fresh blood in the Mayor's office.

We need a woman. She would come in and clean house. Give the city of Ripley a new perspective.
Let the surrounding counties know that Ripley is actually going to change and not be a laughingstock anymore. Let them know that the citizens want change, and are willing to actually do something about it.

I know several who would make good candidates for mayor.(Not any of the present alderwomen, BAH). Any of these could run this city with no problem.

So think about it. As long as this is a "good ole boys" town it will remain in the pits.

Besides, what could it hurt other than some mens' ego. What is better a bruised ego, or a well run Ripley?
i got one

Donna Buckner already knows the ropes and would make a terrific mayor. She reminds me of Bufford Pussar--walk softly and carry a big stick. She has a smile that would disarm any who thought otherwise and she could lay any opposition out before they knew what got them.

Deb....WE NEED NEW BLOOD!!!! We need a clean slate of new leaders, not recycled members of the team that has been running Lauderdale County for years. Think outside of the box. We are in a real bind and we need new conservative people stepping up and getting the Ripley budget under control and recruiting business like crazy.

What we need is someone that can do the job....the old blood here ran the town fine....it's the new blood that has come to town and take over that is causing the problems....new blood can be a very bad decision....Ripley's biggest flaw is the fact that we let new people come in and take over, make a mess, then move away to let us put the pieces back together again....we have new blood as mayor now...pav isnt from here

Brownsville doesnt let new blood take over...they have more jobs than we do....jackson is being run by old blood,,look at their growth....for some reason Ripley changes new people when they move here....either they try too hard to be social or they were nothing when they came here and see a chance to be a big shot....tell me I'm lying

Is that they were referring to the new blod of the community. Fresh faces from within. Not just some of Craig Fitzhugh's cronies for example.

And no, the "old blood" sucked too. Mayor Douglas was a perfect example.

Douglas did a lot better than Meathead....keep living in your fantasy world....a newcomer or new blood will have cronies around in no time

Douglas did not bow down to anyone, especially the bank on the corner....he was in charge and city employees knew it....they love it now because they can do anything they want to and we pay for it...corruption comes in all forms....look around st our prosperous city now..LOL
