Same old... Same old.....too bad it takes 3 years for most of the teens at RULH to mature enough to realize that personality, humor, friendship, being active, being an all around good person and most of all grades and attitude in school is how this should be voted.

I wish the staff nominated the students and then the kids voted on them.

Im sure it will be the same as always. The kids with the most money and can dress to impress will get nominated. Its always been that way at Ripley and always will be. I can think of alot of kids that would deserve it so much more.

I'm sure all of us hope and wish that our son/daughter could be on Homecoming Court but its the students choice who they want and that is something we have to deal with.Everyone that is a Senior at Ripley deserves to be on court if you ask me,they all are a great bunch of kids and I wish all of them the best of luck.

honestly, people vote for people they like. it's not about who is a genius, or who has money, it's about who everyone likes, and is friends with. people say "oh it's a popularity contest" when, DUH. of course, you vote for who you like. people are so stupid. if you want a title for your kid to show they were smart, wait for valedictorian! and as for people previously on court in past years, most of them deserve it. i know last year, all the kids on court deserved it.

care to explain to me how they "deserved" it? how exactly do you qualify to deserve court?

its a POPULARITY CONTEST. nobody who isn't one of the "popular kids" will get it.

What is the talk about if you don't go to ripley school then you can't go to homecoming?

toria, you're dumb. do you not understand what popularity is? if you're popular, everyone likes you. you obviously have some qualities that a majority of people like. that's why they deserve it. they deserve it because they're nice, smart, funny, etc. the qualities are why people vote for them. if you don't get it, it's probably because you're too stuck in the past because everyone thought you were annoying. hmmm... ANNOYING: a quality why you would NOT win homecoming court.

Oh, or your mommy and daddy are key players in the town, so you have connections, and then you have "friends". And haha, obviously your not man enough to put your name, since I've seen you talk a lot of shit and not put your name. And guess what? I didn't want to EVER win court, because it doesn't honestly mean anything.

And BS that everybody who won court was "nice" because I can name quite a few people who were horrible.

And thanks for caring, but I'm not stuck in the past. I've moved on, and I'm so outside that stupid school and town, aside from my friends, that its not funny.

However, I think there are a few people in that school who deserve to win court, but won't because they are not the "popular" crowd, and an athlete. Oh, and that of course is another key to getting court. Be an athlete. Have you seen somebody from choir or band win court? Or even get elected? No, because you need to be an athlete.

Let me throw this out there, you don't have to be an athlete to be popular. I think the happiest I've been with court is when Rob Castle won it. Because he HONESTLY deserved it. He won court honestly, and not by being a stupid athlete or having mommy and daddy in high places.

So next time you wanna talk, go ahead and put your name. And also, my name starts with a capital T. Thanks :D

Well toria(you're not good enough to me to even have your name capitalized), what your saying is that Adam Miller and Hannah Spiller last year didn't deserve it? Seriously? Those two were honestly the most popular people in the school, popular as in quality wise. Adam was in choir or band wasn't he? I might be mistaken, and I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't popular because he played soccer. Hannah, sure she wasn't a band/choir enthusiast, and yeah, she was a cheerleader, but seriously? She of all the girls on court deserved it the most. I don't like what you're saying, and honestly, I think you're quite ignorant, especially because you contradict yourself. A key to being on court is to be an athlete, yet you don't HAVE to be an athlete to be popular. Also, in earlier posts, you stated that "nobody who isn't one of the "popular kids" will get it", when in fact now you're saying Rob Castle wasn't a "popular kid". Obiously, what I said went in one ear and out the other, considering I said MOST of them deserved it in past years. NEVER, did I say all of them. Remember toria, I say the deserved because of qualities that belong to people, such as Hannah and Adam, that other people like! And as to your comment that people have "connections" to win, that's just moronic. The only way you will get on court is if your connections happen to be with Mrs. Chamness, considering she and student council are completely in charge of the voting process, and don't think for a second the students could rig votes, considering helpful teachers and Mrs. Chamness herself count the votes. So, toria, before you decide to run your mouth some more, quit offending 3/4 of the school saying that they don't deserve it, when clearly anyone who follow the criteria I have stated several times deserve it. Thank you, and I'm out!
