Define "safe".

There are a lot of things about Rio Vista that I believe make it a very safe city. Just walk about in downtown after 9pm on a weeknight. Even on weekends I don't worry much.

I've seen very little evidence of gang activity. I teach some of the kids in Rio Vista and I've heard from them about efforts by gangs to recruit. I'd have to say that my impression is one of little or no success.

OTOH: There are some kids in Rio Vista who've bought into the rural "tough guy" idea. They think of themselves as the alpha males of Rio Vista and are quick to try and prove it. There is no doubt in my mind that these kids are dangerous and should be taken seriously.

But...

No more so than you would see in any small town anywhere else in the US. I believe these kids are the exception to the rule. A dangerous exception, no doubt, but exceptional nonetheless.

Sounds like your kids were unfortunate enough to have run into some of these kids.

I don't know the details, but I'd certainly pursue pressing charges vigorously if they are what I suspect and my kids were the ones being shot at.

FWIW: Being the exception makes it that much more important to act appropriately to thugs. The last thing a town like Rio Vista needs is to have such people running roughshod over the populace.

Keep us posted on what happens.

"NO". The "ENEMY of LIBERTY" has pentrated all branches of Government. Dumbing down children "IS" only a small branch of the "TACTICS" in play.

The "CONSTITUTION of the United States of America" is in place to protect "CITIZEN" from Government. In other words, "Rights go to the Citizen "FIRST"" Not Government...

"YOU" ask, "are your children safe ?" . No they are not, each is subject to "CALCULATED", "MINIPULATION", "Brain washing each and every child".

This "TACTIC" has been perputrated by the U.S. Government. On going, this second.

Taking the weapon would be the correct decision by the officer.(using verbal tactics to induce surrender of weapon) Part of Officer training. Seems your Officer missed a bace.

Margereta....I am proud to live in the greatest country in the world. I am an American.....you really think our government is guilty of brainwashing every child. WOW you need to get real!

And removing the weapon does not solve the PROBLEM!
Its the behavior not the weapon

It is clearly evident in your statement "YOU" are and have been "BRAIN WASHED"...

Your words, "removing the weapon does not solve the problem !"

"THAT" exemolifies all my assertations, refer to "FACT" , and by the way MY great great great grand father is and American and SO AM "I".

Your mental attitude groomed by a system pushed to "SOCALISM" may be distorting your thinking with reguard to the function of the mamal species on Planet Earth ?
