This has been a thought for decades!

Good old STA! Amidst an economic mess, it's full-speed ahead with tax payer's money.

Idea! No study and no construction! Things are working and fine for now!

As the economy falls deeper into default, we won't see the traffic out and about because no one will be able to afford recreational driving. Even job commutes will dwindle.

So, shelve it until the rainy "daze" pass! Grow up!

So typical of most Cal-Trans projects, nothing but MAKE WORK boondoggles designed to MAINTAIN sky-high prevailing wages (union) and wastrel tax spending.

I doubt that the state can afford that big of an infrastructure project. The feds are butt-deep in debt to China to the tune of hundreds of billions of borrowed money. I can't see them funding the bridge anytime soon, even though infrastructure projects are what is needed to help jump-start local economies with new jobs. I think that the Hwy 12 bridge should wait for a couple of yrs so our economy can recover enough to invest fully in many needed infrastructure projects. Besides, Hwy 12 is a headache, traffic wise from Lodi to Hwy 29 near the Napa airport and has been for 20 or 30 yrs. Quit spending so damn much money on Iraq and Afghanistan and we could start rebuilding America!! Wartime economies have never been good for the economy in any era, when the war is prolonged over a long period of time. Don't buy that tank, build a bridge or invest the gov't money on education!
