Sorry, my apology. If your words weren't all capitalized and if you sentences were structured, I'd probably wouldn't have misread your points.

Wow. did you come up with that one by yourself? hopefully you didnt hurt anything.. Why isnt anyone stating the obvious? A guardrail would stop all this...
The witnesses said the car was traveling in excess of 90 MPH. A guard rail would have sent the car air born. You can't protect against stupidity.

These kids should never have had a license in the first place. Or did the driver even have one?

hey, they made some really bad choices and someone lost their life. they are someone's child, friend, family. people are grieving. i feel for them all. fortunately, no other car was involved, so their mistakes affect their own. hopefully their loss can change others lives and affect their furture decisions.

Amen Mom...When I was young and very stupid I buried the speedometer in my Roadrunner. I had four other kids in my car. The car I was racing had three in it.

Only luck let us make it home that night. Luckily, I learned from this. Too bad someone had to die here but stupidity killed this kid.

Poor choices=Poor results.

This time the poor choices that were made had fatal consequences.

Period end of story.

This is no one elses fault but the drivers.

If someones argument to my post is going to be something like the following: "yeah but they were just kids we need to protect them".

My response will be: "Fine then they were not mature enough to handle the responsibility of driving"

None of this is complicated.

While I feel sorry for the parents who probably didn't think that his would ever happen to their children as they held them in their arms years ago, the sad truth is that there is an element of today's younger society that glorifies this type of behavior. To read the comments on some of the posts make me want to just tell them that you DO have to face up to the consequences for your actions. These students (and they are of the age that they should have been in school; California law states that anyone under the age of 18 and/or have not finished their secondary education by graduation must be enrolled and attending said school until either occurances happen). In certain non-caucasian cultures (not just Hispanic), education is seen as a "waste"; something for the weak and if your are a man, you get your minimal "basics" and then go to work. the deeper element is that these young men are sometimes depended upon to help raise their younger siblings by contributing to the household. This could be recitified by the parents using some sort of birth control, but that is another arguement. Along with this, other seemingly "manly" rites of passage are accepted, like drinking. But deeper is the idealology that being on the fringe of society (like the rappaz and ganstas are) is considered "cool" (think James Dean here, for the older readers). This is prevalent in the music, videos and movies of today. It is just not "cool" to go to school and get an education and not become a "number"; a working class non-entity that can be replaced with another Mexican. In the greater Mexican culture, the jobs that they do with their hands validates them as being "more manly" than an office job, which some consider "sissy" jobs. I think that CPS should get involved because there is probably younger juveniles whom they know who will emulate these drunken, out-of-school, underaged drivers who were breaking the law all the way around. Maybe this will be a wake up call for the parents, who were aware of this happening but chose not to face the reality. Parents are not as unknowledgable as they want to believe. Too bad it takes two deaths to get the message across. Or maybe not.

I lived in Ryde for many years as a child I attended Walnut Grove elementary I rode the bus every morning to school one day my busdriver lost control and the guardrail did stop us from going into the river. And living in that area you always hear tragic things like this happen it's just if you don't live there you won't know about it. And every time there's a fatality if you were to go to the scene you would know why they died all river roads are so dangerous just take it easy. Y para los padres que perdieron a su hijo que dios los beniga.

Yes people do make mistakes, but there is no need for the insults! These teens died and yes they should have not been driving while being under the influence, but people are grieving for the loss of these two young guys. instead of saying stupid things y'all should give your condolences to the families because no one knows how anyone's life will be taken all you writing stupidity on here can lose a loved one the same way and then you won't be talking. Appreciate those around you and love them unconditionally, because tomorrow is not promised. R.I.P Carlos A Toscano and Jessie Garcia. You both will always be missed and will always be remembered. You both had so much to offer and were good guys. Too bad your guy's life ending so soon. R.I.P
