Instead of letting kids out early on Wednesdays, the Sahuarita school district should consider letting them out early on Fridays (many of these kids belong to people who work at Raytheon, who get every other Friday off).

Why not consider a 4 day per week schedule, where you add 1 hr to the current schedule and save some energy on Friday's while you are at it.

Wednesday early releases doesn't do much for parents who work. This is actually inconvenient for working parents. Fridays would work much better. Everyone wins. Teachers get longer weekends. Kids get long weekends. Parents are able to do more stuff with their kids. The school district saves energy on Fridays.

The fact that we've always done it as we are doing it does not necessarily make it right for the current times.
