... My name is Jo Anne and my husband and I have purchased a parcel of land last year in the Ranchette 18 Section of Rio Rico ... since we are in New Jersey, we'd love to keep ourselves updated on the growth in the area ... I look forward to visiting this forum on a regular basis ... it's a great way for us to keep in touch ... hopefully someday soon, we'll be able to visit again ... it's in our long-range plan to retire to Rio Rico ... Happy Holidays to all ...

Hi Jo Anne - we may be neighbors someday! My husband and I also purchased a parcel of land in Rico Rico - we are in Rio Rico Estates, section 16 and are also from New Jersey. We will be moving there as soon has my husband retires which right now could be 7 years.:(

I just hope that by the time we do move there, there is actually a little bridge over the Santa Cruz river. I'd rather drive over it then thru it! LOL

... Hey Jersey Girl ... nice to make your acquaintence ... we have more like ten years to go before we can think about retirement, but we will definitely be building in Rio Rico ... is the Paper Mill Playhouse still around?... Millburn is a gorgeous area of NJ ... can't compare the views though to Rio Rico ...(winking here)... I know what you mean about the infamous Santa Cruz River ... when was the last time you went to the area?... write back soon ... Jo Anne

Hey to all you newcomers in Rio Rico...I am a fairly new one too but I come from over 6 thousand miles away. We live in England but are lucky enough to have had a house built in Rio Rico...and now try to spend at least 3 months of the year (about four visits)there each year....And we just love it .....! We love the people, the views,(we are in Rio Rico Estates, section 11) the cows...etc etc oh and the weather! We agree that it would be good to have a bridge across the Santa Cruz River...Barbara

Hi Barbaraaw ... you are one of the lucky ones ... I'll have to look on a map of the area to see how close you are to our lots ... hopefully we'll be able to get to the properties later this summer to see the progress ... it's so nice to make your acquaintance ... we look forward to our relocation ... Hi to all of you, I just came across this and need to get someone to answer a couple questions, first: where can I find the map to show me the Rio Rico Section 16 and would someone be willing to chat with me on my reg. email address. and last, any comments about your purchase and if you are living there now would like to chat especially with you. I am very interested about this area and am fixing up my house here in Ohio for resale in another yr. So, if it is possible, any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeni PS: will check back on here later tonight. 060806 6pm

Hello everyone, Happy Holidays!
I too inherited my property in Rio Rico Estates. It's in unit 13 lot 32. I haven't seen the area since it's been developed. Parents bought in 75. Anyone know what it looks like these days? I'm from the Chicago area, love AZ but just haven't been able to get down there. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Add me to the list...Unit 11 lot 73. I Google Earthed the lot and see 4 homes in a row built next to the lot and several across the street. Looks to be a nice location, paved roads, high ground overlooking the valley. Will probably sell though as I'm an ocean person.
Anyone interested let me know.

Hi everyone. We, too, have land in Rio Rico. Are all of you excited about building there? Do you feel it's a good investment? We're thinking about building on our land but haven't made the final committment yet. Any info?

Rio Rico is nice. I have 2 lots there. But I think I'm going to build in Golden Valley, AZ since it's closer to Laughlin and Vegas. The land is still cheap but climbing steadily. Let the casinos pay for some a/c in the summertime...

My family owns a lot in Rio Rico, we are not yet ready to retire but would love to learn more about the rio rico area before we build. What is the value of a lot, ours is a ranchette, I am not sure of the number, it is a bigger lot in area 16 I believe. Any info you have is appreciated. thanks .

A big Texas "Hello" and warm wishes to all ~ also, it is with great hope(s) and excitement that I find myself typing these words with thoughts that all (well atleast most,.. and of course those most important)of your dreams come to be! You see with each of the previous messages i read I found myself feeling a little bit of the energy each of you expressed with your words of Rio Rico. So much so I am ready to move to Unit 13 in Rio Rico Estates Lot ,.... and join you all! Unfortunately, my life is currently in Texas and I am now(with this message) attempting to gain a better/proper perspective of my property in Rio Rico Estates. That is to sell,.. keep,... build,.. etc,... as to date the contacts I have made trying to establish a business relationship- have only resulted in an uneasy feeling. Would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom, insightful thought(s) and/or advice to help me in my fact finding adventure that will allow me to make an intelligent decision as to how to handle this piece of real estate.
Thank you, and again I wish you all the best.

We own a lot in the Rio Rico Ranchettes but are probably not going to build on it. Can anyone recommend a source for finding Sale Prices of recently-sold properties?

Also what method has been most successful for recent sellers, e.g.- list property with a broker, sell it online ourselves, answer one of these postcards from NRLL, etc.?

Thanx for any help you can provide.

Hi there. I Love Rio Rico and have bought a few lots there throughout the past year. Realtor.com will give you somewhat of an idea of what lots are listing for. It doesn't necessarily tell you what they are selling for. I have been watching this market closely so I have a good idea of what is going on. I have worked with a realtor in the area named Penney Marks. she is with re/max realty in rio rico. just look them up on the web or on realtor.com and you can reach her through the number on the site. I would be happy to tell you what I know as well. jmiller@netster.com
