not my community. I spend too many hours a day trying to keep the people I employ busy. they don't want to work. they are third, fourth, fifth generation of people who get something for nothing. they accept a full time job and then complain that if they work full time they will lose their food stamps, EIC, section8. stop giving these people a reason to NOT work. you want food stamps, your kids better be in school EVERYDAY, section8, no gangsters in the house. my community is fat, lazy and on their cellphones. what's wrong with NM? it's got the largest ignorant population in the country.

If they don't want to work thats their rite. Who are you to critisize people for exercising their rites.

Actually, no. There is nothing in the Bill of Rights that covers any "right" to work not work. I wonder if they would continue to exercise this alleged "right" if we cut off all the government handouts and public aid? I guess they would then be exercising their right to choose starvation as a form of death. I think I would support that right.

But the numbers of illegals living off of their American neighbors increased!

"The study looked at Census Bureau data and found that 57 percent of immigrant-headed households, both legal AND ILLEGAL [emphasis added], with children under 18 years of age depend on the government."

The census wrote:
is also used to determine where and how our (yours too) tax dollars are used. By not giving inforamtion, such as your age, Vet status etc. you have turned away a return on your tax dollars to help support programs such as VA and senior services. So in the future think about that when you complain about how poorly the Vets are treated or that senior services are being cut. And for your information a big majority using senior services are Vets. I would think that you would want as much of your tax dollars returned to your community as possible.
BS. How does knowing my telephone number benefit ANYONE? And the government already HAS all the information they were asking me for. I pay taxes. It's on my tax forms. I have heard this same mantra about helping the VA and "needy". The governemnt knows full well how many veterans there are. They keep a ton of paperwork on military members. If you use VA services, and I do, you are fully registered and they know all about you with THEIR questionaires. So that excuse is shot down. As for senior services, they are controlled by the Congress and the President. Considering the Congress doesn't even READ the bills they write, I see no reason to supply yet another agency with information they DON'T need.
And with the budget cuts in progress, we are at the mercy of the politicians as far as what is and isn't cut from benefits and welfare programs. The Census will have zero influence on what they do.

Uncle Sammie pretty much knows EVERYTHING that was asked on that questionaire already. I am NOT going to keep telling him the same thing over and over. I told him EXACTLY what he needed to know....TWO. Everything else was just another invasion of privacy.
