Chip in, peeps...help these "needy" families out!

Ohhh....never mind that theye are "single moms" (dumped babes!) with no jobs and no ambition to get a job (check the help wanted ads for RR and ABQ!).

In a word..."s-u-c-k-e-r-s " that shell out for these bottom feeder creeps!

i wish i would have known this sooner. i was looking to donate, but couldn't find anything local. mostly needy families are in downtown alb. i am going to look into this, because donations and volunteering is needed all year round, not just holidays. but its good to know that there are organizations out there that help people.

i bet your right! and i agree, but there are legitmate people out there that need help. i just wish we knew who they were. its tough to donate when you know that some of them are just lazy and have no ambition.
i do agree with you, but i know that there are legimate families out there that need help.

i just watched the video and her house and tree looked better than mine. and her pantry was fuller too. hmm why is that?
there are others who probably could have used those gifts even more. maybe families with out a tree and a nice house. i don't think she needed it as much as others might have. i think she should manage her money better and she would have been able to buy stuff for her kids herself. although , i a glad the kids got a grreat christmas, i am critizing the parent.. not the children. i am glad for them!!! they deserve a happy christmas.

I hate to say this, but other kids are needier out their than the families that apply for this. I watched the news last night and saw these houses the people listed above lived in and they were new and nice. It's a shame that the REALLY needy children aren't helped. While these greedy people get free gifts. What a shame.

aren't these families screened and visited before they are accepted to be in this. I mean I feel for the children who are less fortunate, but I truly do not believe the families shown on the news are very needy. This really ticks me off.

Though I more or less agree with a lot of the comments as to why these families shouldn't have received a sleigh full of freebies, it was done by a "private" charity, so I can't really fault them for giving out as they see fit. But perhaps this would have gone over better on this message board if they would have provided for the more truly needy.

Were the recipients of these gifts members of the church? Does anyone know?

What gives us the right to judge. We don't know all the circumstances involved with any of these families. I've been involved with giving of this nature for Christmas in the past and I've learned from those experiences you cannot judge the circumstances based upon outward appearances, far more dire events were involved that are still heartbreaking and involves tremendous challenges to the human spirit. And those involved with making the dicision as to which families were recpients of the help know all those circumstances. It is a shame and sad some have to be so judgemental. The mother of this family is the best friend of someone who is very special to me and I don't even know all the circumstances. I'm just very grateful her family was able to experienes others' love and tender hearts, as well as the other families too.

she lives in a nice house according to the news picture video. she has a nice tree, some don't have that. what about the kids who really really have nothing. and the teenage girl looks about 16.. she can get a job to help out. even if its 10 hour hours a week. there are people who really need it, children with out a home or parents, that ticks me off. giving it to someone with a better house and tree than most. most people in rio rancho have money..
next year i am going to find out who really needs it and start helping before christmas.

Friend of mine, who has adopted 2 kids, and has one, plus two step kids, lived i nthe Habitat House in Martinez Town. Her Father was a pres. church elder, beat her brother so hard, it left scars. She ran away, ended up there. She and her hubby live on the west Side right now, and she gave back her house to the city of ABQ-both work full time, he's a boy scout leader.

She was poor as crap, but got her act together, now has a happy family. Her house was the one used for the habitat. She was a college dropout, and she is a success. Think about that when you are complaining here, she pays all of her taxes, gets no state aid, and got help to get out, too.
