I'm sure the plea won't be entered in time and Gov. Richardson will let him go back to work or get him a job in Washington, or something like that, right?

is what "really obsessed" is hoping for, but he doesn't know anything and would rather just say it and let you think it.

We'll probably never know through this venue (SFNM) whether or not Ramirez-Olivas is an illegal. They seem to shy away from reporting the citizenship status of perps. Why is that?? Odds are 2 to 1 he's an illegal alien... NOT the PC word "immigrant".

Our condolences to the families of the unfortunate couple on that motorcycle. What a shame and a waste of human life, just because someone was drunk and disorderly with no regard for the law. I hope this 'Mexican national' gets a very long prison sentence.

The article says this guy was a "Santa Fe" man. My A SS...he is a mexican national that has killed two more people. I don't understand why this guy was not deported back in 2001?
"A 36-year-old Santa Fe man appeared extremely drunk Sunday night after he crashed head-on into a motorcycle south of Taos, killing the driver and a passenger, police said.
Cesar Ramirez-Olivas — who was arrested by Santa Fe police for drunken driving in 2001 — reeked of alcohol after the crash, could barely walk and slurred his speech so badly it was more like mumbling, said Lt. Eric Garcia, state police spokesman. Police found an empty fifth of Jose Cuervo tequila in his 1997 Dodge Caravan, Garcia said."
Hey fool - people died - a drunk driver is a drunk driver.

will be in jail, and not working in Washington like scumbag Fierro.
This guys trial will come and go, and he will be in prison for a while.
Not Fierro...he is living his life with no regrets, no remorse, and still being the cocky fuk that we all have come to know.

buttboy bill...are you going to pull your strings for this guy too? Pacheco, are you going to file the paperwork late on this one too? NOT!

Of course, upon seeing the hyphen I knew what I'd find here.

Some questions:
Is he a Mexican national? Probably. I'll go with that.
Is he illegally here? Why wasn't he deported in 2001?
If he illegally here? Why wasn't he deported in 2008?
Can an illegal alien seriously be arrested twice for DWI and *not* be deported? That suggests something bizarre about our system.
If he was illegal, and was deported twice and returned twice, that suggests something bizarre about our system.
But then again, all we now know is that he had a hyphenated last name and killed two innocent folks. Not much mention of those poor folks nor their families. Two (or rather many) more lives ruined by drunk driving.

When they caught him the first time, why didn't they deport him if he is here illegally, because in Santa Fe they get away with everything, it is a shame. My condolences to the families.

Hey clown........that is the point.....those people WOULD NOT HAVE DIED IF, IF, IF this illegal was not in the country to begin with.

We have our own problems, we don't need another country's. And I get sick of your lead in's and then some sort of quippy one liner. Write something with some substance, or do you work for Pueblos Somos whatever?

Sabine, go out to the community college some night when all the convicted DWI's must take mandatory classes as part of their sentence. The first thing they do is ask who does not speak english. Usually, more than half raise their hands and they take them to another room to be taught in spanish. The next week (second class) only about half of them will show up so they are not fulfilling their sentence.

Santa Fe, and the judges do not ask immigrations status is the bottom line. If that does not peeve you off, not sure what will.

One human being killed two human beings. The one that killed was irresponsible and should have not been driving or drinking. If this had happened in the UK the it could have read McDrunken kills two. Does that mean he was from Ireland? Illegally? Two people are dead yet you only care that illegals should not be here taking away jobs no one really wants.

Granted Ramirez-Olivas took two lives because of his abuse of alcohol. Let's not argue that point--he regrettably took two lives. Now, let's argue that, without any mention of his immigration status in the article, many responding to this article chose to label him as illegal, Mexican, Navajo, or some other insinuation plus a pejorative aside about the governor? Could it be that many of these responders are just flat-out mean spirited?

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Cancer

Mercury turning retro is offering you the chance to make sweeping and long-lasting changes to your life, and to clear the ground for some fertile growth in 2010. Lawyers and legal matters, debates, contract negotiations, partnership or other alliances, and joint ventures of any kind need attention. As a Cancerian you don't like endings, but you must now bring an end to any situation or relationship that is holding you back or has passed its sell-by date. Look forward, not back, if you want a glittering future.
