Ugh, how can people complain about elected officials if they don't vote?

It's a mentality exclusive to New Jersey.
Then when the voters finally get someone good, they're too stupid to know it and want to run them out of office.

Don't think so? Look at your property tax bills.
Completely politically generated, thief driven and taxpayer supported.

School board elections usually have the lowest voter turnout and if you look at how much of your property tax is spent on education, it will shock you if you happen to work for a living.

people should start thinkin about votin for a new mayor. he is not approachable at all. ever go to a council meeting. he will run you out as nasty as can be. he only wants to go to parades and plant flowers. he does not want to come up with solutions to town problems. he must go for the good of the town and take his lapdog town administrator with him. they are two faced back stabbers and everyone now knows it.

This thread appears in many, and perhaps all, NJ city forums. I am presently reading this in the Elizabeth forum.

I am reading this in the Barnegat Light forum. BL has a great mayor, so I was shocked to read he only wants to plant flowers.

I VOTE (on occasion)...though it's increasingly frustrating to do so - because I haven't found a politician (in ANY party) that actually follows through with their campaign promises, seems 100% trustworthy, and actually seems to have my best interests at heart - and the best interests of every hard-working, decent, "legal" citizen in my town/county/state/country. All the parties are increasingly looking the same: scandels, bribes, giving 'hand-outs' to the LAZY (I didn't say the deserving: elderly; legitimately incapacitated in some way, people; or innocent children; etc...) There's people who abuse the system all over the place and, frankly, I'm tired of working hard/balancing my personal budget to live 'within my means', and ONLY having children that I can emotionally/spirtually/mentall y/physically/and FINANCIALLY support. I respect myself, my family & friends, my home/yard, neighborhood, etc...and I'm SICK/TIRED of those who don't. UNTIL I FIND A POLITICIAN THAT ASSURES ME HE/SHE PROTECTS MY INTERESTS *sigh* I GUESS I'LL JUST KEEP TRYING TO VOTE FOR THE 'LESSER OF TWO EVILS' OR NOT VOTE AT ALL!

Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. The state of New Jersey is finished.

I give your current governor my prayers and condolences. His job is not one I would enjoy for any money. Although he is doing what he was elected to do.

There are 49 other choices. Many you will find far less corrupt and financially better to live in with a better quality of life.

Your values are not gone completely, they just lie beyond New Jersey where the words "Honest Politician" is an oxymoron more times than I wish to remember.

You make some good points...that's why I put I vote..."OCCASIONALLY ". New Jersey is a tough state, no doubt ~ to live in, for MANY reasons. Still ~ there's a lot of decent people living here...we've just been put through the POLITICAL WRINGER (on every level: township/county/state/etc... I've lived here all my life...for good/bad, and I'm hoping to retire OUTSIDE of "Joisey"...

the mayor of netcong is the one who only plants flowers, yells at people at council meetings and gets mad if you ask him a question or complain. netcong is in northwest jersey, morris county. he needs to be voted out next election.

[!?!?!?!]w-w-w-what-t-t-t!?!?

umm--mmm last I checked this was an *OPEN* forum, and - honestly, I was giving "MY" opinion ~ as you are entitled to yours...I can't re-read what I posted and say I thought anything I said was out-of-line. My post was not intended to inflame/upset...it was basically about the lack of Political Integrity and how many of us would probably vote, "IF" we felt there were qualified candidates to vote for. I stand by EVERY word I said...again--MY OPINION...I don't expect to change anyone's mind or need for anyone to agree with me! THANKS!

O don't let this person get you fired up "jersey girl" people like this troll these sites to try to add drama and uneducated opinions. They obviously have interpretation difficulties and do not know how to read posts for what they are. I didn't see anything wrong with your posts either!!

Ditto Jersey Girl. Peanutshorty hasn't got an original thought and should be ignored. Open forums attract all kinds of people. Some just can't contribute anything intelligent, so they either attempt to bully or inflame others.

It's a refuge for failed class clowns.

Who are you to criticize that person?!
1) This is a NJ forum twit-not just Netcong!
2) Only one word is misspelled in that response- and that's probably just a typo.
3)Also at the end of your first sentence- since it is a question-where is the question mark?
4)At the beginning of sentences-the first letter of the first word should always be capitalized!
5) Also- the word is duh -not dah! DUH to you !
WHERE DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL? IF YOU WENT AT ALL!
