Allow gays in military to 'Tell All, Be All' The New Mexican The Joan Duffy Chapter of Veterans for Peace urges President Obama to rescind the ban on gays serving openly in the military.

As do I. Why does the military wish to encourage dishonesty by insisting gays hide in a shroud of invisibility?
The military seems more intent on hiding the true person, than honoring them. The way female soldiers are raped by their fellow male soldiers and then raped again by being ignored, transferred or put on trial is a pretty good example of the archaic policy the U.S. military prefers to present to the rest of the world.
Other countries are more tolerant of their gay soldiers and the military is stronger, the morale better intact, as a result. Dishonesty breeds weakness and contempt and up until now, has been the American way. Maybe it's time to put on a more honest face and welcome change. Our world image can certainly use it.

Could you please use specifics when saying a blanket statement that other countries are more tolerant with gays in their military? And where were you when Clinton enacted this policy? Another example of liberal intolerance.

you no brain? DADT was a compromise with those that totally opposed any acknowledgement or tolerance. Bad compromise, but still a positive step away from the status quo.

Only a screen name changing mental midget would not know that there are at least 30 plus countries that allow gays to serve openly. Only a screen name changing mental midget would not know that DADT was a compromise with bigoted homophobes that turned out to be a lousy one.

#2,3, & 4 are criminals not sexual minorities. Masturbators are the MAJORITY not a minority.
