"Marcia Brazil was driving ...when a coyote stopped in her path and fearlessly stared her down."
HIT THE GAS...SPLAT... 1 down... |

WOW, coyotes in Scotts Valley, no way! Soon they will be rounding them up like the homeless and sending them to Santa Cruz.
I see coyotes all the time... A lot on Gram Hill Road and even Costco's parking lot. |

I live in Bonny Doon and there are coyotes all over the place but for the most part they seem to stick to deer, other wildlife and roaming cats. (People with livestock may have a different experience.) We have that almost invisible black deer fencing behind the developed part of our property because if the deer get in the coyotes will follow. It's part of living here and I love the sound of their howls at night, especially when my silly little dog throws back his head and tries to howl with them. Common sense things like feeding pets indoors, not leaving water out if you're in a dry area, keeping small pets inside at night and making sure that larger dogs can't get out to run with them helps.

You mean we still have wildlife here? We must remove it immediately before it disrupts our way of life.

You are living in my habitat, what do you expect.
I have been in front of a coyote that looked at me for a few minutes and walked on. Your own fear will inspire the "fearless Stare Down" |

Scotts Valley is worried about coyotes when they have Target "staring the down fearlessly"??? Be glad there's still some wildlife left in Scotts Valley. Soon it will just be another San Jose!

Well of course we do. Haven't you read the article about the naked woman downtown? |

Send the coyotes to Capitola - we have too many outdoor cats!

Live and let live- Just because something is alive and not domesticated doesn't mean it doesn't have a right to live free- Also, for all of you with animals and livestock: Coyotes and wolves have been a problem for farmers since the beginning of time- Do as they did and adapt-Protect your livestock and pets with fencing and shelter in the night. The answer is NOT to shoot or otherwise exterminate these lovely creatures.

1 Cayotes are just furry and nature loving creatures. Don't worry about rabies, that's natural too! It's just Mother Natures way of saying, "don't let that furry fella bite your children or pets!" Happy Happy! |
