He was only 26, he was my cousin. We need closure and its out of our hands now its the Laws turn to work while we mourn our family member. I know there are cameras out there on that corner, so its unbelievable they have not caught anybody yet. That whole weekend Cops should have been swarming that area due to the shootings that occurred earlier. Maybe if there was more police present they could have deterred this situation and he would still be here with us. Unbelievable! R.I.P. James You will truly be missed and never forgotten, your soul lives on through your seed and we promise to take care of him like he was our own.

Nothing in the article indicating race of victim or thugs. Safe to assume then victim was caucasion and thugs black. Therefore not a hate crime. My condolences to your family. Paterson P.D. has been cut severely due to recession. Sherriffs Dept. is in chaos with no leadership, current Sherriff a prop by the powers to be to keep the same party in control, sad. When P.D. coverage improves the attitudes towards them being able to do the job without looking over their shoulder for Al and Jesse will be up to the citizens holding the appointed judiciary to the fire. Can't keep arresting the same folks over and over. Base the punisment on the crime, not PC.

James was my best friend and brother. This is a great loss to his son and our family. He was a young man, in the prime of his life, and it does not matter what race he was. If anyone felt threatened, then they should have called the police. My brother should be here. On behalf of our entire family we thank everyone for their condolences. R.I.P. James Miller, Jr.
