Milling no cure-all for a 'Kill Hill'
You don't have to be from Ringwood or Oakland to appreciate the horrors of Skyline Drive.

Responding to the actual article. It's not 1/4 inch milling, in spots it's up to 3/4 inch. Milling for traction is not what was recommended, it's never been used for rain dispersion on any surface, it's just cheap. What was asked for was rain grooving. Actual 1/4 inch directional grooving which is allready in place on rt. 287 as the closest example. It's used in every country in the world and has been developed and improved to make it safe and effective for motorcycle travel without affecting the integrity of the desire to disperse water and prevent hydroplaning. The brutal politically incorrect truth about the milling on Skyline Drive is the rain grooving was not done due to cost and cost alone. Of course now we have a mistake which will have to be fixed. Fixed by inconveniencing the commuters while they finish milling the road in preparation for re paving and then installing the proper rain grooving, oh yeah, that will be at the expense of the tax payer. One more very good reason to vote on November third and ditch these morons in Trenton and Paterson.
