No Decision on Gravel Pit Special Use Permit
MONTROSE After nearly four-and-a-half hours of presentations, discussion and divided public comment, the Montrose Planning Commission on Thursday unanimously voted to continue a special use permit hearing until May 23 to address some lingering concerns about a proposed gravel pit atop Moonlight Mesa south of Montrose.

There is concern as to whether this location is habitat for the sage grouse. Until the government determines the status of the sage grouse(whether is an endangere species) I feel the strip mine application should be tabled. How will the wrong decision be undone if the this area becomes and an endangere specie area.
