It's time for the new design of the Pool that will attract the many residents needed to make it safe, healthy and financially self sustaining. Reality is setting in.

This 2009 season will be a disaster...

There is no problem with Graydon Your problem is YOU don't like it. Nobody cares what you think Dom.

Hello Already, the stalker, back again?...
You and thousands of Village residents seem to care what "Dom" thinks .... just watch the numbers this year... they will not meet a satisfactory conclusion or need.

Graydon is a dead Duck... or Geese,... or user.

Hey Dom the only thing relating to Graydon that is DEAD is the idea of spending any money for renovations or changes. Graydon pool is fine just as it is....Sorry Dom! Don't go away Mad Dom, just go away......

No problem Jessup, the new added heliport will be set up at Graydon so the EMT can move "bodies" more quickly to the Hackensack Hospital and promptly to the morgue...after taking 45 minutes to retrieve the body ....

I suggest you understand the facts first.... Your opinion is worthless ....

How absurd, four deaths in over 60 years and you make the stupid statement

"heliport will be set up at Graydon so the EMT can move "bodies" more quickly to the Hackensack Hospital and promptly to the morgue"

That alone proves you have no grasp on reality.

I can't agree with you more Enough Already. That Guy Dom doesn't know what he is talking about....anyone can drown in a clear water pool or a murky water pool in just five minutes. How long it takes to recover the body is meaningless the person is DEAD after five minutes. Hey Dom, go get yourself educated before you open your mouth and prove you don't know a thing.....

My mom taught at Ridgewood High in the 60's so we got complimentary passes to Graydon even though we lived in Glen Rock. I loved the pool and have many happy memories of summers spent there. I now live in Northern Arizona where almost all the communities struggle to provide anything for their kids to do in the summer. Graydon is a great facility and I hope the people of Ridgewood know that. You don't realize this until you live somewhere that has nothing at all like Graydon park.

Nice to hear from you JIM, when are you moving back? Yes, Graydon is pretty and a jewel that is not attacting renewal memberships like it once did. Ridgewood residents and the Village are working on a design improvement, with community input, that should be the answer for "everyone" to accept. Memberships from 6,000 to less than 1,000 now has taken its toll and this OLD design will not bring them back.

What kind of work are you doning now? Perhaps, your 'technical background' can be of some help? Stay Well, in Arizona... Dom.

Be on the lookout for a Proposal Recommendation to be asked for by the Village Council.

An improved facility plan will be acceptable soon. It will increase the membership that is sorely needed....!!!

The revised Graydon Pool concept is closer to an acceptable community improvement project.

I hope we will have it soon.

I grew up in Ridgewood. moved there when I was 5 until I was 24. Have great memories of Graydon pool. went there all summer and even took swimming lessons there. Great way to spend your free time in the summer. Loved 4th of july when there was the parade that went right past Graydon pool and all the Firemen ran into the pool to cool off. Best of times

Graydon is a venerable village amenity that has never been self sustaining. The library isn't self sustaining - our taxes support it, just as they do Graydon. The water is clean, clear and safe, the grass and sand are soft and beautiful. It has never been a money make nor should it be. It is a well loved community resource.

Recent small scale improvements have been welcome (sun shades, kiddie water features, pretty chairs, an aerator) but any big scale improvements would be a horrible mistake.

Vocal people who don't even go to Graydon dislike it. Don't ruin it for the rest of us - join the Y if you're scared of sand and ducks. Or listen to reason (as detailed recently in the Ridgewood News), and come on in - the waters fine!

Sorry folks... Graydon is going down for the third time.... and it should...

Effort is being made with an improved design that will attract "all the lost memberships" back into the fold...

Be patient... a solution that satisfies everyone is coming.

Dom is 100% correct and speaks for all of the Ridgewood residents who KNOW the facts:
Graydon is not safe
Graydon is losing money
Graydon hardly has any members
Graydon is not clean or clear
Graydon needs members and this is no loger the 1920's
Many families are going to other town poools
WE WANT CHANGE
We showed our support at last night's meeting. The mayor and all of the council members can now see our support-we will be even larger and stronger at all of the next meetings.
Notice all of the folks on the Preserve Graydon Coalition. All older folks with no kids who don't want to put one dime into any improvements. It's the money folks, not preservation. They don't want to spend the money.
Live in the present. It's not the 1920's anymore. We now know that swimming with the birds is for the birds!!

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Cancer

If you have children at home they'll be really playful today and quite a handful at times. Encourage them to burn off all their energy during the day otherwise it will be a case of tears before bedtime. There could also be a fractious atmosphere between you and a loved one, and this will quickly escalate into a row if you aren't careful.
