As an Indian-American, and as a man who lived for thirteen years in Tyler Clementi's home town of Ridgewood, New Jersey, I am disgusted by the kid gloves that Dharun Ravi has been punished with. Thirty little days for indirectly causing the death of a human being?
For generations we Asian-Americans, like blacks or Jews, have struggled against persecution, exclusion laws, internment camps, discrimination. And now one of us goes and does this to another human being because he belongs to a despised category? Shame, shame, double shame!

Shame's on you.
Ravi didn't intend for the little cliff diver to take a swim over this. Trust me Gandhi...Ravi's been punished enough.

Fine if you think I'm wrong or foolish ---- that's your First Amendment right to criticize me. But why refer to me as "Gandhi?" What, you think that just because I come from an Indian background I believe in that guy? Gandhi had his good qualities, but I vehemently reject his pacifism. I believe guns are the only way to bring about major changes in history.
And by the way, Gandhi was not the cause of India's freedom. There was another man named Subhash Chandra Bose, a military revolutionary. Bose escaped to Germany while the war was starting and persuaded Hitler that Germany would benefit if Britain lost India. Hitler gave Bose money and supplies to create the Tiger Legion, later the Indian National Army. Exactly like Ronald Reagan and the Central American contras.
Bose's INA, operating from Japanese-controlled eastern Asia, attacked British military posts in India. The Second World War, Bose's contras, and the 1946 mutinies among British Indian troops forced Britain to let India go.

you cant prosecute somebody for manslaughter for inderectly causing somebodys death in this case they are not even sure of the reason for suicide clemmenti should have gone to a motel instead of monopolising the room with immoral behavior

Agreed, and I'm not saying Dharun should have been convicted of manslaughter. I had similar problems with roommates in the dorms when I was at college. I appealed to the authorities for intervention. I didn't go taking things into my own hands.
My critique of Dharun Ravi was on moral grounds, not on legal grounds.
