Speak for Yourself sailor. I ran across more fat navy chiefs and senior officers who have their fat asses park out at sea than I now see in the corporate world. As a retired Marine Officer, who served both enlisted and as an officer, Marines are the worlds finest and can and will be put to the test well before the other services. Although, several sailors serve with Marine combat units, sailors are generally safe in the rear with the gear.

Parris Island is a joke anymore anyways. Drill instructors are dumb as hell for one, all they can say is daggon this and daggon that....I went to parris island and was discharged on a medical on training day 50 thank god because the dumbasses i went with, I would never be able to put my life in their hands. They let anyone and everyone in the marines. Half the dumbasses couldn't even read because they are strait out of the ghetto or they are hicks that don't know left from right. It's rediculous and anybody with a head on their shoulders could tell you that 95% of the recruits in parris island are dumbasses along with the daggon drill instructors.
You're a moron. Calling you a dumbass would be insulting to dumbasses everywhere. Learn to write sometime, it'll help.

Are we still talking about the Marine that died in 2006 or another one? I'm so sorry for the family that lost a loved one. People are so quick to sit back and judge, when they don't have a clue of what the hell they are talking about. Very proud of my son being a United States Marine. Best training in the world. Thank you to all who are serving and have served our country.

Some of you point the finger at Military Personnel. You might want to look at the young man or woman who did not disclose prior medical history to the recruiters. As for the Drill Instructors, they are always blamed for weak minded individuals who lie to get in for whatever reason. (usually collage money) maybe if they simply removed themselves from their couch and put down the video games long enough to maintain some resemblance of fitness, but no we have to blame someone other than the unhealthy individual that went to find the recruiter. remember these young men and women are volunteers, there hasn't been a draft since Vietnam.

Marines are the first to go in battle to fight for us...They have to train the boys to make it if they are stuck in the middle of a combat zone. Most of these kids want to have the stigma that comes with being a Marine, but have heart or lung issues that they lie about and die during the training. The D.I.'s were much harder 25 years back and shouldn't have lightened up, but because of people that get in and don't understand the code or what they perpare these men and women for, they try to soften the training. BUT that's what makes them who they are...always ready. If I would ever be stuck in a foreign place, the best thing to see coming for you is A MARINE!! That's ok boys...keep on doing what you do! Daily Horoscope for December 6

Capricorn

You're in a very generous and kind frame of mind today, and you'll go out of your way to help others if you think they need it. You might donate some money to a good cause or decide that charity begins at home. If you're buying gifts for some of your loved ones it will be difficult to know when to stop, because you could easily get carried away.
