I stopped handing out candy when my street looked like a cinco de mayo celebration and no one could speak English... enough!

Wow... first comment is already about immigrants. Starting early today, huh? This is an article about Halloween, not ICE raids. Put away your soap box and get back on topic.

Yes, undoubtably that is what was implied.

We love our Au Pair, Elena Weinberger. But, I guarantee you -- she won't be getting all of the candy this year!

To the au-pairs: Welcome to the USA, and to Connecticut!
Hope your experience is positive.
I've been in most of your home countries, and hope you find Americans friendly and welcoming.
Have fun on Halloween!

Yeah, its usually pretty fun (I've got a fog machine, scary music/sounds playing, cobwebs, etc.) and the kids have fun, and I have fun scaring the kids. I don't know, maybe that's messed up that I enjoy scaring kids. But hey -- it's Halloween.

That IS the topic, I refuse to give candy to people who cannot pronounce "Trick or Treat" and just shuffle up to my porch with their hands out... get over it.

To all the anti-immigrant naysayers: Thanks for sucking the joy out of a fun holiday.

Go eat your candy.
