The so-called "crime" is an infraction. A "conviction" is a penalty. There is no arrest.
What is the point here? Sorry for the loss, have the driver pay a fine, move on. Very vindictive people. The "killer" should be offered some security protection - may be a dog "eye" for a "human" eye.
