The village clerk accepted petitions on 2/12. By doing so she indicated that in fact she did not recognize the 12th as a holiday. This will probably go to court and the Clerk can explain this contradiction to the judge. Good luck with that.

That's funny. Is that the only way Carol's supporters think they can win- by having the petition for Bill, Gary and Nick thrown out.

That's party politics. It's something the major parties would try to do. We don't need dirty tricks in this village.

It's shameful!

dirty tricks? Oh boy are you guys full of it. You know what else we don't need? Gary and his emergency no bid contracts to his family. He is costing the tax payer hundreds of thousands of dollars by not placing these out to bid. it's shameful!

AS A TRUSTEE IT WAS CAROL’S RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY HER VILLAGE TAXES ON TIME. CAROL “B” WAS OVER A YEAR LATE IN PAYING HER VILLAGE TAX, 2 YEARS IN A ROW - UNTIL IT WAS ANNOUNCED THE TAX CHEAT NAMES WOULD BE POSTED ON LINE AND IN THE PAPER –
The Carol supporters spend all their time making excuses for her, coming up with secret plans but never anything that tangibly helps one resident…here is the TRUTH Carol is a liar and will say anything, befriend anyone just to get elected.
This election is not about Carol it is about the village and it is Mastic Beaches last chance - SHE IS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME – SHE IS TRYING TO DESTROY OUR VILLAGE JUST LIKE SHE DESTROYED EVERY JOB SHE EVER HELD…SHE IS BILL BIONDI’S BIGGEST MISTAKE and now we can rectify it by voting her out.
I don't care if you do not support the other people running, that is your choice, but you are a total idiot if you even think about voting for the political hack Carol Bissonett - She has been totally missing in action – she has missed multiple village meetings, multiple village work sessions, all during Sandy, she missed every meeting at village hall, every meeting with FEMA, every meeting with other municipalities – all the other trustees attended these, even while their homes and businesses were destroyed - she is a trustee in name only - we can not afford an empty chair in our government…this is our home and we need to fight to make it better.
Now we see her desperately attempting to steal the election by trying to claim the petitions are not valid (PS: they are legal, check out NYCOM rules)
She has made no effort to help the village rebuild - all she does is make odd faces, false statements and empty promises. She has been thrown out of the Democratic Party - the Republican Party and now as an independent should be thrown out of our village.

It is not a matter of dirt y tricks. It is a matter of following law. This group has held meetings that should have open to the public under NYS law. Ask them about meetings held with a quorum that we don't know about but are covered under the open meetings law. And more than that, if after 2 years in office you can't figure out how to run for office while following NYS law then how can they run a lawful government. Getting nominating petitions signed and submitted is simple and straight forward process. They can't handle it.

By the way, NYCOM does not set election laws. NYS does that. Paying your taxes late is not against the law. You guys are amazing! You wanted a village so people had more say in how their community was run. Now that we have a village you will tolerate and defend anything the government officials do. Anyone who speaks out is subject to a smear campaign. Brookhaven was never this bad. How sad.

Petitions were filed on time - a Federal Holiday is a holiday - if people work on those days it does not erase the holiday... some people work weekends does that mean there are no weekends...of course that does not apply to Carol who has maybe worked a total of less than 20 days in the past year - actually BEING a trustee is obviously more than Carol can handle - it is all about her getting elected and bringing in her political buddies like Fred Towel Mr. Sneed and nothing about doing the work the residents deserve…and that is NOT FUNNY.

Power – it is all about power. The village government is working 24/7 - the trustees and mayor get no pay and contrary to the BS none of them are getting anything. MBPOA is dying a slow death and they are desperate to regain their lost position of power and they see killing the village as their last chance, Carol and her minions are trying to give the village back to their buddies in the bankrupt town in an ignorant attempt to rebuild Carol’s lost reputation and dead political career, maybe if people spent half the time they spend on hating and spent it on helping -this could be a great village - wait actually it is becoming a great village in spite of them and that is killing them.

Towle was hired months before the first mayor left office. Sneed was hired a week before Breshard left office. Bissonette was appointed by Biondi to fill his empty seat after he became mayor. So how exactly is Bissonette responsible for hiring both those men?

That was then...this is now - she has fought to keep them ever since - wake up and smell the corruption. Once you are owned by Towle the rest is inevitable.

LETS PUT THE PETITION STUPIDITY TO SLEEP

New York Election Law CODE ELECTION LAW CHAPTER SEVENTEEN OF THE CONSOLIDATED LAWS ARTICLE 1 GENERAL PROVISIONS
Sec. 1-106. Filing of papers; when received
1. All papers required to be filed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall, unless otherwise provided, be filed between the hours of nine A.M. and five P.M. If the last day for filing shall fall on a Saturday, Sunday or LEGAL HOLIDAY, the next business day shall become the last day for filing.

OR LET'S LOOK AT OYTHER VILLAGES IN NY

(copy from article in The Post-Standard/ Syracuse
Syracuse, NY (February 13th)--There are contested races in four of nine Onondaga County villages holding elections on March 19.
Today ( February 13th) was the last day for candidates to file petitions either with village clerks or with the county Board of Elections, which runs elections for Solvay and Manlius.

But I am sure the Carol team - all six of them - will continue scratching a clawing looking for some way to get the powr without letting people vote - That is exactly why Carol wrote the Article 78 for the Anti-Village team to stop the vote on the village - because the truth really does not matter - it is all about winning.

really? i guess none of you ever had a financial problem? the taxes were paid. i guess your credit score is 900 and you are perfect. in the economy we are living in, it is totally reasonable that someone could fall behind. and please don't give me that garbage about a home in the estates. if your home is paid off, it is usually cheaper to stay in it. that being said, financial stress happens. get over it. the taxes were paid with the appropriate penalties.

actually lincoln's birthday is a floating holiday. if you choose to have your employees work that day and you conduct business, then you have chosen to use president's day as the holiday instead.

but the village of oyster bay was CLOSED for business on February 12th. the village of mastic beach was OPEN for business, therefore not using february 12th as a holiday
