they treat people DIFFERENTLY according to WHO YOU ARE or HOW MUCH THEY PERSONALLY LIKE THE INDIVIDUAL
it should be every one treated the same regardless first come first served no favoritism showed to any one the tall thin woman wearing black glasses there lies to people about why their turned away telling people because you don't come every week but I personally know a woman who hadnt been there in 3 weeks given a x-mas basket otherwards your judged on sight or gossiped about as to weather or not YOU NEED something in her OPINION or others there.save yourself the gas or humilation of this place.

Maybe you should come and freely give of your time, efforts, and hard work. Get to know what's going on before you make uneducated assumptions.
If you don't know how things run, how things must legally be operated, if you don't know the people that work hard for no other reason than to be of help and service to the community, then you don't have the right to be judgmental.

Again, you speak of what you know nothing about.
By all means, please go there and volunteer and get to know those "snobs" and the other people you work their butts off to do good for you, me, and others alike.
On second thought, I don't think it would be a good idea for those who like to gossip, spread rumors, and blatantly lie to volunteer their time there. You seem much more efficient at trashing those who try to help, than actually trying to be of service yourself. But if you did, I bet someone would then be right here on Topix talking nonsense about you as well.

When I went in there to fill out the application, I was made to feel extremely stupid because I misread a question. The women started yelling at me loud enough for everyone to hear, it was very embarrassing. It was an honest mistake on my part. Then I asked if I could get any diapers, and I felt like they were talking down to me. I only go in there if I absolutely need to, and I understand that some people milk it. But instead of trying to intimidate people for asking a simple question, they could nicely answer it and go on. They act like I am taking food off of their table or something. They need to chill out and explain things NICELY .

Look at buffalo wv and see john Reid took money from a bank he doesn't need to be over the pantry i think they should have Kim come back and get things back to helping people while really need it but they need a person willing to help.

I will say that not all people who are there have the most pleasant personalities. There could be changes made in every situation in life.

@ Really- I'm sorry that you were made to feel that way. It's humbling enough when you are in the position to have to ask for help. When you feel that someone has belittled you, while putting yourself in a vulnerable position by having to ask for assistance, it stings. I have been in the same situation in a different set of circumstance. When I stand back and assess the issue and try to look at things objectively instead of personally, I can usually see where maybe it wasn't the other person being ugly, but myself being sensitive.

@ Carrot Stick- WRONG! Not everyone there is working for a welfare check. Silly I may be, I may even be a little bitchy sometimes. But, know this- I AM NOT a silly bitch!!!

come on who cares they r that work there they r rude and refuse help to people who really need it just like if u can't be there every week that's someone else who gets the small portions they give its a shame how the pantry has lowered the food portions to the people who come in needing. John did take money if u look it up u should find it but things need to change there alot

The one who talks about going down there to volunteer needs to get a clue if u r not in their little circle they say they don't need ur help come on its sad to see what the pantry has been lowered to the man that took over is not all he seems and he and the rest need to understand the pantry is not for their personal wants and their families but for the people who come for help

The guy that is over the pantry now is doing a wonderful job, they are expanding into a larger building, they collect REAL food from all over the state and beyond, he is always working to find things to bring to Richwood for the pantry. The man has a shelter there for those who have no where to live. During the power-outage the pantry cooked meals for the power men and for those who couldn't cook for themselves. They passed out meals to families and business workers alike. There is alot of things that they do that people do not give them credit for. Those women are on their feet and spending hours helping those who need the help. For those of you who said they were 'snobs' maybe you caught them on a bad day when they have had no sleep, no rest, no time to themselves, because they are dedicated to the pantry and helping where they can.
I read where people would rather have that woman back, well for one I am glad she is gone! She would take more stuff from the pantry home with her than she left on the shelves. She even lied to a store and told them that there were alot of dogs in Richwood that needed food, and when a truck of dog food came in she took it all home to her own dogs. She wanted SS numbers from the people who needed free items, hmmmm, wonder why she needed those for???? Maybe those who want her back was some of those who helped her clean out the place. Ya, I am thankful for the man that is up there now, turning everything around for the good. Just saying.

I am thinking all of you bitching should be grateful, after all the hand outs are NOT owed to you,They are all for FREE,Stop acting like you are OWED something,Myself and my family have donated to the pantry many many times.(The pantry thrives on DONATIONS from the public)Why don't some of your complainers come and volunteer for a week and see what it is REALLY like,Instead of standing on the receiving end,Stand on the GIVING end for once in your life and then throw a bitch fit!
Be GRATEFUL for what you get for FREE and stop acting like you are OWED a handout!
