Many great and informative posts here. I agree, preparedness is a must in today's time, especially in a spiritual sense. I serve the loving and merciful God.

<quoted text>There are many ways to collect and filter water. Even by purchasing a pur water filtration system off the shelf is better than nothing at all. There are homemade filtration system's that you can make, which you can Google most of the different types and instructions, or buy a homesteading book. I found one at Tractor Supply that was most helpful. Store water in anything that can be sealed except containers that have had dairy products in them. If you are storing water from the store or collected spring water, unfortunately those will expire within 6 months or so, if they are not treated. Treated water will last for 3-5 years or longer depending on the container. I will get back to you with more later, in the meantime if you have more questions feel free to ask.
Very well said BEAR777. If not prepared spiritually, your are not very well prepared. Thanks!!

R we ready 4 the next big snow? Preping is a good idea. I work night shift an plan to bring xtra food with me. The house should be ok, but if I can't get home who will feed and water my dogs?? That's my first line of defiance.

when the proverb-able shit hits the fan, it will be almost to late, cause when the end times in the bible takes place, its to late. most of the oceans and water will be wormwood -poison. 3/4 of the population of the world will die from the fire s from heaven and rich men under the mountains in the bunkers will pray for them to fall in on them .prayer is the worlds most powerful weapon ! i suggest you get right with god or get to know him .and pray you are one of the survivors left. personally i want to be one of the ones left. i want to see his wrath and power on the evil that is without doubt gripped the whole world , let alone America, usa ,united states , united states of america what ever the funk you want to call it .

There is absolutely nothing wrong with prepping. Preparing yourselves and your families for severe weather or anything for that matter has been a common practice for centuries. I enjoy prepping as a hobby, as it's a slow trial and error process that will keep one fairly busy during down times. I would like to see this topic wake up again and see folks sharing their testimonies.

There will be many different small militias, not one big one. One big one would be too hard to maintain and nobody will be in mine unless they can contribute or have special skills and I will never exceed more than 20. Probably not even that many.

what you need:
Bow with the ability to make arrows because once ammo runs out, and it will, that's all there will be.
1000 rounds ammo
.22 rifle
1000 rounds ammo
Lots of NON-GMO seeds for planting garden
Lots of canning supplies
canned food--can your garden, deer meat and whatever else.
Reading material
Propane/natural gas Generac generator(because we will still need to play our video games and watch DVD's and stuff)
a well
Stock up on important meds
Toilet paper. Don't forget the TP for gods sakes because we need our socks!
Have two big propane tamks et and keep them full and on stand-by(hide them with camo or bury them
Condoms because lets face it, it's gonna get real boring and I will take on 4 other wives;)
Gas masks
Gas X
Radioactive meds
How-to books
Huge bags of beans, rice and flour and cornmeal
Motor cycles, ATV's, bicycles because gas will run out and you still need to travel. If you have a big field nearby then get some horsies.
Since we will ultimately be riding horses a lot, we will need a cache of Preparation-H.
Lots of fertilizer and diesel fuel.
Fishing supplies
Gas/oil lamps and lots of oil
Wood stove
Good hand saws that do not require gasoline
Splitting mauls
Needles and thread--because nobody wants their ass hanging out of their favorite pair f jeans because it could send out the wrong message to nearby militias.
