I am asking....that Rt. 4 be widened, put up lights, monitor this stretch of road, and for all drivers to be causious. My prayers and sorrow go out to these families losing their child. God Bless all of you.

Widening of road will lead to increased traffic as well as speeding. This will lead to more accidents. We should try to improve the driving skills of people and be more selective while issuing driving license. Also, laws need to be strict: 3 tickets in a year and your driving rights are suspended unless you give the test again and pay hefty fines. Geez, roads do not cause accidents, drivers do. Time to stop blaming roads or lack of lights for our mistakes.

if you have ever payed attention to anything that happens around marion, richwood, marysville area you would know that way to many people die on route 4. It may not be the road but something needs done. I have lost 2 people on route 4 and its about time something be done. Innocent people need to stop losing their lives. My prayers go out to the Haycox family and the Pheifer family.

Think about the thousands of people who drive that road every day - and they don't die. Look at 270 - thousands drive that every day - and they don't die. Occasionally they do, just like on Rt 4. A distracted or sleepy driver is going to cross the center line - that's all that happened here. While I agree that some lights would be helpful, it's not going to stop people crossing center lines, and I agree with George that widening the road is only going to make people go even faster.

Hey George...ever find yourself turning into or away from the sun as it cast it's glare across your windsheild and you can't judge or see for that split second or two. Hell even the best sunglasses seem to fail at that moment. Or driving at night when it rains and the glare from an oncoming car with high-performance headlights blinds you for that split second again. Even the best and brightist drivers can sometimes make a critical error under these circumstances...but that is a narrow strecth of road through there. Drove it myself a time or two. lighting ain't the best either...Wonder if a cell phone was in use...something else to think about. But their is something that none of us human beings can argue with and it's called a four letter word...FATE!

Agree - saying that roads cause accidents is like saying that pencils cause misspelled words.

That's utterly horrible. People can't be careful, can they? Now an innocent person (which one of the two of them, probably the poor woman) is dead.

why would you assume the older person is innocent? they cause just as many problems on the road as younger people, for example the older many i passed driving home today. her kept swerving and going off the road a little. i finally decide to pass him and i look over and he is eatting.=(.. sorry to the families involved.

My family and I were driving along route 4 that night heading home to Delaware and arrived only a few moments after the accident. I have not seen an accident scene like that in my life and in talking to some of the neighbors that were present, it seems as though this occurs far too frequently along that stretch. My prayers go out to the families of those that passed and to the young lady who survived this terrible accident.

My family and I were heading home from Cedar Point and made an unscheduled stopped in Bucyrus. We were passed by the squad and the sheriff's deputy responding to the call. From what we could see of the scene the accident was terrible. If we would not have stopped we could have been there at the time, so yes our destiny does boil down to a four letter word, FATE.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to both families as any loss of life, no matter the circumstance is a tragedy.

God bless.
