Jesse jackson has been extorting businesses for years with threats of racism charges......and now, karma has stepped in, and the old adage proves true:
You can take the blackman out of the ghetto, but you cannot take the ghetto out of the........

Feds send Jesse Jackson Jr.$750,000 forfeiture order
Not only must Jackson come up with $750,000 in cash, which he told the court last week he will be paying in full, but he also must part with dozens of items, some of them almost comical in nature, which prosecutors said were purchased with his ill-gotten gains.

----------

That means more than $10,000 worth of Bruce Lee memorabilia must be turned over immediately to the federal government, along with a $5,000 football signed by American presidents. He will have to fork over Martin Luther King memorabilia valued at more than $15,000, as well as more than $18,000 in Michael Jackson souvenirs (including two of the King of Popís famous hats). Thereís a $4,000 guitar signed by Michael Jackson and Eddie Van Halen, Jim Hendrix memorabilia valued at $2,775, and Malcolm X souvenirs priced at $2,200. Also furs, valued at $5,000.

No problemo.
I also like this one:
The truth hurts.

Perhaps you would like to defend Jesse Jackson?
Either of them?
Have at it.

MLK "had a dream".....a noble sincere honest genuine dream. He has been replaced with race baiters and charlatans like the Jackson's and Al Sharpton who are hurting race relations while they become wealthy.

If you do not acknowledge who and what they are, you are allowing great insight into your personality and mentality.

I'm not going to defend anyone convicted of a crime. I'm glad he was caught, prosecuted, and will go to jail. He deserves to be punished for what he did. That doesn't change the fact about what you said about Black men and the ghetto. I agree with you about Jackson, but don't you think your comment says something about how you view Black men in general? Doesn't it say more about you, Local, er, I mean "Karma," than it does about Jackson?

at least you have enough self respect to admit that Jesse Jackson is a criminal.
Now, all that is left for you to do is admit that Al Sharpton is an opportunistic charlatan who is just filling his pockets with money at the expense of good race relations.
Then, we will be in full agreement.

However, if you do not agree (about Al), then it is encumbent upon YOU to defend him. If you are not willing to do so...then we must agree....and you should simply quiet yourself.

You are avoiding the point I first made about you in this thread by trying to divert the conversation. I'll play along to try to help you to refocus on my original comment to you. I hope you are able to do that.

When I think of Al Sharpton the first thing I think of is the T.B. incident of many years ago that he was involved in. I am sure you know what I am talking about. It is hard for me to have any respect for a person who behaved as he did at that time and subsequently regarding the people he falsely accused and the role he played in their prosecution and persecution. Enough said about him (I hope).

Now, will you get back to my point, please? Do you think your old adage cited in your first post says something about you or not? Do you feel proud for having used that expression or would you like to backtrack a little now? At the very least, tell me this: if you were talking to a Black person, would you use the expression you used in your first post here about Black men and the ghetto? Why or why not? Thank you.

yes, if it were true.

More importantly, why would you NOT want to point out the race baiters/opportunists and charlatans that should be identified for whom and what they are?

One would not use that phrase if they wanted to avoid offending an entire group of human beings. The comment is offensive because it maligns an entire group of people, black men, and associates ALL of them, not just a few, with something negative like "the ghetto."

There is absolutely no need for you to use that expression to point out a criminal and/or charlatan who happens to be Black. Would you ever think to use a similar expression about a white person who was a criminal and/or charlatan? Can you even think of something parallel to the expression you used for white people?

I think you should rethink what that expression really means and who it applies to- an entire group of people- not just a few deviant individuals from that group.

Someone who is always poor and dirty and some of them are narrow-minded bigots. I really don't like them.
Some more descriptions of them:
-You look next door and see "Muddin" going on and hear country music/Southern rock playing.
-A Rebel flag is flying on the neighbor's porch
-You see hunting dogs caged up in the backyard
-You hear Southern-like Whooping and "hollering" and occasional gunfire
-Your neighbor is wearing Rebel flag attire, is hairy, and is missing so many teeth it looks like his tounge is in jail
-The neighbor is fat, ugly, wears oversized T-shirts and either smokes or drinks a lot, and her hair is nasty looking
-You see duct tape on everything

So let me ask you a question. If someone, maybe someone you don't like and whom you think shares nothing in common with you, says something offensive about a group of people you belong to, would you have more or less respect for them and for their opinion?

Would it make you think what they said was more or less valid? If someone said something about Christians or about White men (I assume you might be a member of one or both of these groups- please correct me if I am wrong) that you found offensive and wrong (all Christians or white men are... fill in the blank), would you think their arguments were more or less valid? Would you think them more or less legitimate? Would you think they were intended to be a part of a reasonable discussion about politics and society or rather to inflame, intimidate, and silence? What would you think in a situation like that?

If you are having a hard time putting yourself in those shoes, let me know what group or groups you belong to and I can try to think up some expressions that someone might apply to you that you would find offensive, invalid, illegitimate, and wrong (and stupid).

That's right, these are all negative stereotypes of a certain type, and class, of "white person." I suspect that many white people would not want to be exclusively associated with the kind of picture you paint above.

But also note how the image you portray is about class and poverty as well. I am not necessarily sympathetic to those who wear Rebel flag attire (maybe they don't know what it really means?) and certainly not to those who keep dogs caged in the backyard, but I am sympathetic to people who cannot afford proper dental care and to people who cannot afford better than duct tape to make home repairs, and I don't judge people by the genre of music they listen to, whether it is country, rock, hip hop, classical, jazz, blues, electronic, or other...well, maybe electronic. ;)

We have freedom of speech in this country and there is nothing wrong with people expressing themselves, even if the language they use offends others. I don't think offensive speech should be viewed as "criminal" and I don't cry myself to sleep when someone says something mean about me here or elsewhere in my life or when I stumble across people using language which I find offensive.

But I was trying to point out to another poster, someone whom I think wants to be taken seriously by others here, that an expression he used was offensive to tens of millions of Americans and is not the kind of expression one should use if they want to be taken seriously in a political debate. It portrayed a bias which undermined his credibility in talking about the issues he wanted to discuss.

You obviously do not feel constrained by the desire to be taken seriously by other people and seem to have no interest in actually discussing the issues, so I would never think to suggest anything to you about the language you choose to use here. Good day to you, sir.

What I've noticed about the self hating white liberal like you?
Is the people that you claim to defend? They don't agree with your infantile tirades, and they don't care!!!

Example:
The Indians? They don't give a sh!t if a team names their selves the "Braves", "Red Skins" "Warriors" and on and on!
In other words, THEY DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!!!
How about you self loathing white liberals just mind your own business? And leave us all out out your self hatred???
