Thank you for recognizing the fact that LaMalfa is more in tune with the people of the district and would and has represented them well. He truly represents the regular people because he spends time and listens to us. He is intelligent and understands the system and has already proven he can get things done down there, but he does not get caught up in the power plays or sell out his constituants or votes to be popular with career politicians. We need more regular, hard working people like LaMalfa (who currently lives the rural life and won't forget where they came from)in the capitol to represent us and change the climate down there from the career politicians that rule the place. And, I like how LaMalfa invited one of them up here to actually set foot North of L.A and Sacramento, to see the wonderful life we have here, how it works and help us preserve it. Next time, Mr. LaMalfa, you are welcome to bring them by my place too!!!

Can you explain how attending a Farm Bureau dinner translates into "getting things done in the district?" Are we electing someone to drive around the district, smiling and shaking hands, or do we seek someone who will represent us in Sacramento? I think this recommendation is short-sighted at best.

The economy in Shasta County is a disaster, thanks to political leaders like Doug LaMalfa. Unemployment is 18%, every construction guy I know is out of work. Those lucky enough to have a job at all work part-time at minimum wage. The number of people visiting local foodbanks is just staggering in Shasta County. Yet, the Chico Enterprise Record supports LaMalfa because he shows up at Rotary Club meetings! We need some leadership in Shasta, we need leaders who can put people back to work, which is why I'm not going to be supporting LaMalfa. I live in Redding, I've seen LaMalfa's handiwork. I think this Rick Keene will put people back to work, and do something about our stagnant economy here in Redding. The ER's endorsement of LaMalfa indicates to me they no little about what's going on in Shasta County economicly.
