The fines will still be cheaper than any Obamacare plan. If they can collect from me that is.
"The penalty applies to any period the individual does not maintain minimum essential coverage and is determined monthly. The penalty is an excise tax that is assessed in the same manner as an assessable penalty under the enforcement provisions of subtitle F of the Code.2 As a result, it is assessable without regard to the restrictions of section 6213(b). Although assessable and collectible under the Code, the IRS authority to use certain collection methods is limited. Specifically, the filing of notices of liens and levies otherwise authorized for collection of taxes does not apply to the collection of this penalty. In addition, the statute waives criminal penalties for non-compliance with the requirement to maintain minimum essential coverage. However, the authority to offset
refunds or credits is not limited by this provision."
https://www.jct.gov/publications.html...
So basically what the above says is that any Obamacare fines can only be collected from a refund owed. Since I pay quarterly and always owe a small amount at the end of the year I won't be paying any Obamacare fines.

Maybe so, but the Government and the IRS have been known to change the rules once too many people begin to abuse the system...

But instead of figuring out ways to screw over your fellow man why don't you read these inspiring stories, watch the videos and become a decent human being...???

Ole comrade merely regurgitates the Liberal talking points without actually doing any thinking for himself. Remember this adage:“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

It really does explain the mindset of the Left. They haven't grown up.

Every single one of you who favors the present corrupt system over OBAMACARE....
Under OBAMACARE insurance companies will not be able to deny coverage to newborns because of pre existing conditions and likewise parents who are not able to afford todays overpriced coverages will be able to do so under ACA.
Obviously you aren't paying attention. Many conservatives do state that something must be done about people with pre-existing conditions. Some of the ideas are insurance pools where those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage for a very reasonable price, similar to the insurance available to high risk drivers without much income.

The biggest corruption that occurred before Obamacare had to do with the government programs, Medicare, etc. How is turning the entire system over to the government going to fix that problem?

You know if you want to be taken seriously, or if only to improve your own understanding of the issues, you need to do a better job informing yourself and work on developing your critical thinking skills. You are woefully lacking in both areas.

Oh, I am paying attention, listening and watching too. Your problem is that you do not understand the difference between talk and action...

Conservatives only talk about alleviating the condition of the underprivileged and then further the interests of the mega corporations, the Walton's and the Koch's.

To belabor the point, conservatives "do state that something must be done about people with..." but when President OBAMA does something "about people with..." the conservatives lose control over their bowel movements and cry out for more tax breaks for those who need them the least.

Your feeble attempt to confuse the issue by bringing in corruption into the equation is sophomoric at best simply because corruption is ubiquitous in our plutocratic society, and before the condition can be ameliorated, people of your greedy persuasion will have to become a wee bit more altruistic...

The only fallacy with that adage is that "if you are a conservative by forty you have no heart and certainly got no brains..."

Oh but I do all to clearly. I understand that what you Lefties say and the consequences of your actions are two completely different things. Obama said that we could keep our health insurance plans and our doctors yet millions of Americans are losing both. Your tout your Leftist policies as helping the poor and down trodden yet the policies that you champion do nothing but harm and enslave those you are claiming that you want to help. You Lefties decry corporate profits meanwhile the political machine that you want to give complete control of your lives to is partnering with favoured corporations to enhance their own pocketbooks and all their talk about serving the people is merely lip service which keeps the likes of you enamored of your beloved government.

You on the Left are the ones who don’t understand the difference between words and actions.

Comparing the activity of an individual attempting something never done before to the government taking over 1/5 of the economy, and doing it incompetently, and not being able to run a website, which is done successfully all the time, is just simplistic and idiotic.

Look comrade, there are many companies that run very successful websites that can handle all sorts of traffic yet the government fails completely when they try it. Just wait until you are waiting for approval for your bypass surgery. All I can say is medical tourism.

This does explain a lot:

Thank you for proving my point SAM!

The government is doing something unprecedented by attempting to rescue 1/5 of the economy of the United States which has been hijacked by the medical industry & big pharma, and I personally can't wait for the government to reform our military industrial complex that the great Republican President DWIGHT EISENHOWER warned us against...

As far as the web site goes that is a minor and transient issue no different than those experienced at one time or another by companies like Apple, Amazon, Face book, Twitter and many other members of who is who in web dom...

Why is it that the repubicans and tea -baggers blame the Obama administration for a software problem that's 100% the fault of private industry?

My only fault with the Obama people is that when they let the contract they didn't require a performance bond. When I buy a major item I always require a warrantee and if the seller wants me to pay extra I refuse to buy the item.

In short, PRIVATE INDUSTRY JUST RAPED THE U.S. GOVERNMENT!

The point is that the government is NOT doing anything new. We have had successfully run web sites for a number of years. Of course the government cannot even get that right. They hire some company that has a horrendous track record when it comes to this sort of product. We now know the reason why. A no bid contract for friends of the Obamas.

No company has done a horrendous job like the government. If they do they go out of business. Who in their right mind could ever think that the likes of Pelosi and Reid could do anything correct.

The people who by law aren't allowed to compete with private industry.

Kind of like the Bradley Fighting Vehicle that even today is a piece of crap that cost hundreds of billions and took years to finally become useable.

We the people (our government or politicians) decide we need something and private industry get paid for providing, or paid for trying to provide it.

Butt back on topic.

Private industry just screwed you and I and everyone else who pays taxes.

That is ahhhhhh, ASSuming you pay taxes!
