"Butt" of course when people can protect their selves, crimes will go down.
Criminals are, just like liberals, they are cowards, and they prey on the weak!

Example:
nicoliar is extremely weak in mind, and in stature, so liberalism the mental disorder has completely taken it over and completely controls it!
Even after it is proven wrong, and a liar on a daily basis, it continues to spew and believe liberal jargon... now that is a very weak mind!

It looks like TWP is actually starting a conversation, although he can't help but title his topic with another personal attack... and although he posts a link to Breitbart, he makes absolutely no commentary of his own.

But I was so astonished that he didn't start with his usual 'butt-monkey' BS, I decided to take a look.

The article is trying to show a cause and effect link between less gun deaths with the proliferation of guns in our society.

A little research showed me that there are less homicides over ALL of our states, and this has been going on for many years. So the next logical question is: what's the comparison of gun deaths between states with few gun control laws and those states with more gun control laws?

"Harvard researchers have found that states with the most gun laws also had the fewest firearm deaths.

The lead researcher of the study “Firearm Legislation and Firearm-Related Fatalities in the United States” published in JAMA Internal Medicine is Dr. Eric Fleegler, an emergency room pediatrician at Boston Children’s Hospital.

“In states that have the most [gun] laws, there is a 42 percent reduction in fatalities, compared to those states with the least number of laws,” Fleegler said.“You can’t necessarily say one absolutely led to the other … but you can say those things are related.”

Here's a link to an article about gun ownership myths. It has many links supporting the summaries.

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/01/p...

"Myth #6: Carrying a gun for self-defense makes you safer.

Fact-check: In 2011, nearly 10 times more people were shot and killed in arguments than by civilians trying to stop a crime.
• In one survey, nearly 1% of Americans reported using guns to defend themselves or their property. However, a closer look at their claims found that more than 50% involved using guns in an aggressive manner, such as escalating an argument.

• A Philadelphia study found that the odds of an assault victim being shot were 4.5 times greater if he carried a gun. His odds of being killed were 4.2 times greater.

Myth #4: More good guys with guns can stop rampaging bad guys.
Fact-check: Mass shootings stopped by armed civilians in the past 30 years: 0

• In states with Stand Your Ground and other laws making it easier to shoot in self-defense, those policies have been linked to a 7 to 10% increase in homicides."

Other studies show that suicides are higher in states with few gun laws.

BULLSHIT!

During the years in which the D.C. handgun ban and trigger lock law was in effect, the Washington, D.C. murder rate averaged 73% higher than it was at the outset of the law,
http://www.justfacts.com/guncontrol.asp

According to data from the FBI’s uniform crime reports, California had the highest number of gun murders in 2011 with 1,220 — which makes up 68 percent of all murders in the state that year and equates to 3.25 murders per 100,000 people.

The irony of such a grisly distinction is evident when you look at which state was named the state with the strongest gun control laws in 2011 by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. You guessed it — it was California.
