Yes. According to you Lefties if you take the actions of the food workers and those of the corporations they are greedy. They want to make the most money that they can.
As always you are comparing apples and oranges. If you want to compare retail or service industry wages then you need to compare like stores. Compare Walmart with Target, Walmart employees earn more than Target. Compare Costco and Sam's Club, etc. Compare McDonald's and Burger King wages not McDonald's Ruth's Chris.
The market should be the determining factor for wages not the government. Do away with minimum wage laws and there will be more people working, the more people that are employed the less choices employers have therefore wages will have to increase if they want to find good employees. The reason McDonald's in places like North Dakota are paying their employees $15/hour is not because the government forced them to it is due to market forces. The oil field is rife with jobs and pays good wages so in order to attract employees McDonald's and other employers have to pay more.
If you are really concerned with those on the low end of the pay scale then do away with minimum wage laws and allow the market to work. California has the 3rd largest oil reserves in the nation, open up the oil field here and you will see unemployment drop and wages rise.
Congress and many Left wing newspapers, like The Nation, have unpaid interns. Why are these corporations getting away with paying their workers very little or nothing?
>

Why is it that the main point of everything always goes over your head SAM??

You can talk all the theory about "market forces" you want and that will not change the fact that employers who pay good wages and treat their employees decently will have employees who will go to bat for them.

You get rid of minimum wages and all you will have is the Walmarts and McDonalds exploiting the mentally challenged and everyones taxes going up.

California's and the Nation's infrastructure is in shambles, get the T Publican Congress of it's butt "and you will see unemployment drop and wages rise"

Worry not about the Congressional "interns," many of them will pick up plenty of bad habits and will more then make up for their current lack of pay by receiving plenty of bribes in the future from all those crooked corporations that all you "right wingers" admire so much...

You righties still have not explained why it's just fine for us taxpayers to foot the bill for the unlivable wages paid by the likes of Walmart and McDonalds?

Why should we taxpayers have to pay for those workers' medical, food, and childcare costs? Just to allow the billionaires to become bigger billionaires?

Since you guys bitch about welfare so much, why aren't you against this type of corporate welfare?

Exactly. The repubs continually drive our economy into the ditch, and then scream that they're the ones to get the car back on the road. And when Clinton and Obama come in and start to make progress, the repubs block everything they try to do.

And if they get control again they'll drive us into the ditch again. And then scream that it was all the dems fault. Again.

You have a point...of sorts.
Perhaps you are correct. All of those hundreds of thousands of WalMart workers should quit and find a better job.
Only one problem.....dummy.
There are no good jobs in this lousy obama economy.....and.....we are 17 trillion dollars in federal debt on his watch.
You want higher wages for workers? Plentiful jobs make for higher wages, and in some cases, signing bonuses....even at McDonalds.
I remember when HP was shipping in unskilled workers from anywhere they could get them....and giving them a signing bonus.
The fact is, that obama hasn't been able to help the working poor, nor has he helped the middle class. He just cannot seem to work with anyone ......heck, even clinton work with newt to get things done.....but not nobama. He is a one way train wreck.......everything he touches turns to sheeit.....

The Waltons, for one example, are now worth over 100 billion dollars. Their wealth increased dramatically during the recession, while the rest of us lost jobs and money. At what point do you think the Waltons will finally increase pay and medical care to their employees? How much more will they have to make before they start to provide more to their employees.

They never will. They'll ALWAYS cry that they're being taxed to much. Get real.

"In 2007, it was reported that the Walton family wealth was as large as the bottom 35 million families in the wealth distribution combined, or 30.5 percent of all American families.

And in 2010, as the Walton's wealth has risen and most other Americans' wealth declined, it is now the case that the Walton family wealth is as large as the bottom 48.8 million families in the wealth distribution (constituting 41.5 percent of all American families) combined."

And we taxpayers are helping pay for their massive fortunes.

OUR taxes are the lowest in over 60 years. Corporate taxes as a share of the total taxes paid are the lowest in 60 years. And you mentioned dividends-- they're taxed at 15%. If TBaggers (and Romney/Ryan) had their way dividends wouldn't be taxed at all.

Most of that debt came from Reagan-- and especially from Bush, Jr. We would have millions more jobs-- including supportive jobs-- if the repubs passed the infrastructure work bill.

Are you really that stupid? Obviously so. Here’s a little lesson you moron.

All spending/appropriation bills must go through the House which is controlled 100% by you tea –baggers, FACT! Next, you tea baggers control the Senate through the filibuster rule and the tea baggers rule that everything must have a 2/3 majority vote, FACT!

It amazes me how stupid you lemmings are.

Exactly right. Any government interference in the market only causes problems. The law of supply and demand is not something that a government made up. The law of supply and demand is the natural interaction of people buying, selling or trading goods and services of their own free will.

Your view of the world is quite skewed. People living off of the nanny state is not corporate welfare.

The question that you should be asking is why are so many satisfied with being dependent on the government and working minimum wage jobs rather than busting their hump to get ahead and improve themselves. I know that you will deny this fact but I can tell you that in my line of work I see it everyday all across northern California. People satisfied with living off the government, they are collecting their food stamps, their disability, MediCal, their free Obamaphones, Obamadsl, etc., etc. The government has built this welfare state and the dependent class.

From someone who claims to see so many people supposedly "satisfied with living off the government blah blah blah..." you sure are out of touch with reality.

The question that you should be asking is why is it that in the decades from the 40's to the 70's when marginal tax rates were up to 90% jobs were aplenty and with just one breadwinner a family could afford to own a home, a car and put kids through college, and....

After the Reagan and Bush.w tax cut revolution, after taxes were drastically cut, good paying jobs begun disappearing resulting in the proliferation of two income families who barely manage to make ends meet...????
